Just wondering ... I only got into it fairly recently. It's a pretty rad fucking show. Simon Baker is awesome as Jane, and all the supporting characters are great, too; they're not just an afterthought.
I really dug the latest episode. It had a Sherlock Holmes vs. Moriarty vibe going on. Me wants MORE.

I watched it a lot in the 1st season. It is a great show. However, it comes on at 10, which means that I'm off to bed around that time (or falling asleep on the couch mid show). Now that I've got the DVR, I've thought about putting it on there, but I hardly watch any of the shows that I miss (but DVR), unless I'm watching them on Hulu.
I don't like Robin Tunney too much. Just something about her doesn't give a whole lot of strength to her role. The rest of the cast is great though, especially Simon Baker.

If I have the urge to watch something like that, I watch Psych.
The funny thing is that the Mentalist had a line that 'tipped the hat' to Psych and I've seen a few times that Psych pokes at the Mentalist. So there's this interplay between the 2 shows at odd times.

The first season is playing now in Finland... and I've been watching it. They just played the Wicca episode.

I can't find the scene from The Mentalist, but in the first season (early episode) Jane is talking to one of the other male officers. Jane gets a call from his dad and has to put off a visit. The partner mentions something about it and Jane says something to the effect of "It's okay. I'll go visit him this weekend and we'll watch the Psyche marathon."
