Archaeology, Titles, and Flying

Just so everyone knows, Archaeology has started to get the first of the item data in the last patch. Some of them are really interesting, and a few even add items, like a second Hearthstone, a severed monkey claw pet, and was seems to be a new Quraji Battle Tank mount.

We also learned that Archaeologists when they gather a certain amount of items will gain titles.

• I Had It in My Hand - Find a rare artifact. Title Reward: Assistant Professor
• What was Briefly Yours is Now Mine - Find 5 rare artifacts. Title Reward: Associate Professor
• It Belongs in a Museum! - Find every rare artifact. Yes every one. Stop whining. Title Reward: Professor

We also will be seeing the return of the PVP titles, as they are now attached to the Rated Battlegrounds.

Lastly, they are adding a training skill to fly in Old Azeroth, but it will not be expensive. Just 250g at lvl60.

So what do these artifacts do? Anything?

Most seem to be more for show and a bit of lore, but a few give vanity pets or other items, like mounts. This is only the first pass of these items, so many more will be coming in the future.

Well, Blizzard seems to be getting better about understanding what levels of wealth characters will have during certain level ranges. The reason Old Azeroth flying is going to be cheaper is because it will be a companion skill you can learn at 60 with the regular Outland flying, so they need to keep it a lower cost for newer players.

Same reason they are reducing the ridiculous cost of 1000g from duel-spec and cutting it down to only 100g, since you can get it so early in levels.
