My husband is looking for a batman psa comic where Joker steals the deed to Alberta and goes to a rodeo.

He had it when he was a kid and has been trying to introduce me to it.

Anyone know anything about it?

YES!

Sorry, I remember it, but can't find it anywhere online. There was a couple like that, I remember a Spider-man one I believe? Given out to all high school kids.

Was the Spider man one about drugs being smuggled in hockey pucks?!

I don't have that, but I do have this. Ran all the time back in the 70s...

Spider-man PSA started with Skating on Thin Ice: http://www.politedissent.com/archives/1218

Followed by Double Trouble: http://www.politedissent.com/archives/1374

Coming to the amazing conclusion with Ghost Rider in Toronto: http://www.politedissent.com/archives/1413

(By the way, that first link is awesome because the blogger snarked about a "wise black man" cliche in the comic. Then the actual writer of the comic comes in to correct him about exactly who that wise black man is.)

LOL, I love the one with Ghost Rider. The irony of a superhero who rides his motorcycle all over without a helmet(or, you know, skin or hair) telling kids to wear their helmet is delicious.

Or Cap'n America telling kids to say no to drugs.

Or Cap'n America telling kids to say no to drugs.
Sidenote to that. They covered this when I was reading Captain America actively. He had been de-powered from a blood transfusion or something and he refused to try to get his powers back because he believed that he would be no better than other drug addicts.

They of course resolved this by saying that the super soldier serum was less a drug, and more a self replicating virus. So, yeah, they totally skirted the issue.

Which The Avengers Loki-smashed into the ground with Iron Man's
"Everything that you are came out of a bottle" shot across Captain America's bow.

One could argue, though, that Cap's heightened strength and agility aren't what really make him a super-hero. It's the fact that he upholds himself to a higher standard.

During the same time, that was one of the things he struggled with. Does he have any right to be Captain America without the super soldier serum. He of course beat the hell out of Crossbones and proved that it wasn't his powers that made him a hero.

Then Deus ex Super soldier serum took over.

Oh I would agree. That's why cap is my favourite Marvel Super Hero.

This was also during the period when all Spider-Man would do is whine about how he's less of a hero than Captain America.

I love Spider-Man, but sometimes he just needs to chill on the emo.

He's not emo - he's bi-polar. Snarking it up one minute, then whinging and moaning about whichever villain is fucking with his head this week.
