So hey Bayonetta comes out on January 9th in the states.

So we're Bayonetta in this city and we're kicking monsters and shooting things with our boot guns and all of a sudden this giant statue comes to life we're dodging and our clothes are disappearing and then there's lava everywhere so we run on the skyscrapers and fight angels and we're chased by a tsunami and then we're in a cathedral and there's a dragon coming through the window and we're fighting it and then it lifts off and it's flying and the cathedral is flying and everybody's flying and fighting and shooting and what is going on.
It's shaping up to be the best looking game of the year (aside from maybe Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Mass Effect 2) and it gets released within the first two weeks, that is not even remotely fair.

The soundtrack recently got put on the internet in glorious flac lossless format. I've been listening to it all day (the soundtrack is roughly five and a half hours long at 150 tracks), and it is an awesome mix of classy jazz, catchy vocal themes, epic sounding orchestral pieces, and some remixed music from classic Sega arcade games (I wouldn't have caught these if it wasn't for my roommate, who recognized tracks from Out Run and After Burner).

So here's some videos showing some gameplay. First is from the demo, second is from the finished game.

Gametrailers has a preview video up with some more gameplay

Seems there might be some combos to learn in the game. Rising high-heeled shoryuken? Also, sousaphone.

The method of travel in the first Youtube video is very, very annoying.
It's the fastest way. You can break objects or explore areas for extra items, and most areas are going to be more localized and have more in them. This is a demo of one of the earliest stages in the game, so it's a bit bare.
