Because we can never get enough Kurtz

#1

Kitty Sinatra

So, as some of y'all know, Mr Scott Kurtz participated in that 24 hour comic challenge, where one is supposed to make 24 pages in 24 hours. He chose to do a PvP storyline, and I figured cool, that means we'll have a whole month of updates on time. Course, we got that awful zombie story and then a couple strips about the ghost of some film maker.

And now, half way through the month, after only about a dozen strips it looks like he's run out. Hell, it's Friday night and Thursday's strip is still showing.

I wonder if he enjoyed his two week vacation.

Even if you're making minimum wage, 2 minutes of your time is worth one quarter ($0.25 [USD]).

Assuming it takes two minutes a day to load and read the comic, then you're 'paying' over $7 per month to read PvPonline, especially if you have to reload it a few times throughout the day in order to get the day's update.

How many of his last month's worth of comics were laugh out loud funny? How much is a laugh out loud teh funneh worth to you?

Of course it's bad cost analysis, since the time is 'sunk' (wasted) anyway, but it's worth considering.

Oh shit. I'm spending a fortune!

Cause, well, our minimum wage is far higher than y'all's . . . and I make significantly more than that.

Well, it looks like Kurtz finally put up the last comic of the arc.

And while the rest of the arc was rather "meh," I think the final comic is a great punchline to the overly-long setup of the story

At least, I laughed

What bothers me most is that, when I checked regularly (I recently stopped) his being late with the strip earned him more money from me, since I would load the page multiple times, and usually from different locations, to see if he had updated already.

1. RSS that bitch.

2. Be cool like me and don't read it, if not just to spite Kurtz :)

I actually went on to the UStream he had going with Straub and others during the 24-hour session, just to check it out. Five minutes after I got there, they all decided to go out and grab some lunch, and left the camera on Kurtz's dogs, which weren't entertaining after a minute (cute, but they just sat there doing nothing). Another 15 minutes goes by with no activity, so I decided to leave. I'll blame it on poor planning at this point (seriously, just couldn't get some food from within the house or get delivery or leave someone behind to keep us entertained?), but it's just one more thing I don't like Kurtz for.

I thought it was funny. However, I'd say that last panel suffers from Buckleyitis: "That's blah blah. That's blah blah. That's blah blah punchline." But what's really funny is that while CAD may be wordy, I've never noticed Buckley repeating himself 3 times over to ram the punchline down our throats.

(Because every Kurtz thread must mention Buckley)

This comic does nothing but remind me that I can't find Count Chocula anywhere anymore. Now I just have Nesquik, it isn't the same.

I tried Count Chocula again just recently. I hadn't had it for years so I decided to go ahead. I sadly must admit that it was almost too sweet. It just didn't taste as good as I remember. :(

None of those ridiculously oversweetened cereals for kids can be found in Canada anymore, at least not around here.

Now that's a reality that even the Bone Burglar would find terrifying! My life just lost some of its meaning.

Apparently it, and his MC thing at the Harveys, went over really, really well.

Allen who is Quiet

Allen, who is Quiet

hm. entertaining enough, but I'm wondering how many webcomics people and how many newspaper people actually care about the battle between the two.

Always.
Be.
Cartooning.

That's the funniest thing he's said in years.

You know, from the look of the post, I think the entire thing was made by Straub, except for the unimpressive artwork.

And, of course, Kurtz gets all the glory for it. Isn't that always the way?

I'm starting to feel bad for Straub... he's like the Bill Finger to Kurtz's Bob Kane.

I don't get it. I recognized ALL the characters BUT the one giving the speech. Who the hell is it supposed to be? And honestly, Garfield shouldn't even be there for that speech, ditto for Charlie Brown because those are the two most successful money making newspaper strips that are huge cash cows.

It's Prince Valiant.

Are you COMMENDING your god-forsaken country because of this?

Side note, my CT said a couple days ago that Canada wasn't a country. I laughed. Because I THOUGHT OF YOUR SULLEN BOOBERRY-LESS FACE

your CT? What's a CT?

side note: I like Boob-berries.
