BF3 anyone?

With the expansion coming out in a couple of days I was just wondering if anyone is playing BF3? Origin may be a pretty busted delivery system, but I have to say that BF3 is the most fun I have had in an FPS since the days of Q3 Arena and Day of Defeat. It's just a fantastic game.

The only thing I have to add to this conversation is

Did that guy eject, shoot another plane with a rocket launcher....and then get back into his plane?

Yes. That is exactly what he did.

That's amazing. Do the game devs realize when you eject you don't do so straight up but at an angle to the plane? And the cockpit screen is basically gone at that point?

I don't want to hear any shooter player telling me my Skyrim is not as realistic as their games...

That's why Battlefield rules.

I tried playing with a new joystick I bought but flying the jets just feels clumsy. I cant strafe worth a damn and am easily shot out of the sky.

When you eject in bf you aren't ejecting you are exiting the vehicle. What he did was exit the vehicle but he did so at a few hundred mile an hour so his body continued to go that fast while the plane slowed down? Then he shot the other plane and fell back to his plane and got in.

I think I may have found a game that outdoes Just Cause 2 in sheer ridiculousness. Because while I could pull off that same move in Just Cause 2, it would involve a lot more grappling hook.

I'm glad BF3 was patched on PS3 while I was on vacation to something at least stable to play on. The interface itself is still shitty (Honestly, you can't exit the game between rounds. Wtf is that?).

It helps that I'm a fucking ace helicopter pilot. I can land that Huey on a dime.

I am god awful with Heli's or Planes. People I play with will team kill me if they see me running towards one.

But I am pretty pro at tanks and sniping. I love sniping in this game, it's not the easy sauce it is in so many other games due to the reflection off the scope, but it's still devastatingly powerful if done well.

I find that BF3 sniping is one of the best actual implementations of sniping out there. The fact gravity has an effect on your shots is a nice touch that prevents uber-sniper gods from being completely devestating. Plus the different ranges of scopes and additional addons like bipods and weights.

yeah, it's definitely quite a lot of fun. It's funny that I end up with less kills with the sniper than most other classes, but there is something so completely satisfying about getting the bullet drop right on the first shot halfway across the map on a moving target.

I also really like the grenade launcher. Running the regular grenades just racks up ridiculous amounts of kills if used right, and in rush maps the smoke launcher is super effective for assaulting troops. I just wish there was some incentive to use it though as you get zero points for launching/using it.

I also play a full medic assault class with a sprint specialization. I'm the dude keeping your dudes alive much to the regret of the opposing side. On Metro Conquest, I've racked up 17 medical ribbons in one match. Love it.

It's pretty ridiculous how many points you can get for that. Just sit at the bottom of the escalators and do nothing but rev people. You can grab MVP without even trying.
