Just finished Bioshock on the survivor setting without using the vita chambers, to get the "I chose the impossible" trophy. It was a little frustrating because every once in awhile you'd get caught on a corner or something and get nailed, but the surprising thing is I felt like, if I had any skill at all, I probably could have done it in one marathon run without saving, except to go pee.

Specifically I was totally expecting the Big Daddies to be a big pain in the neck, but once you get past the first one, the rest are easy. Or to be specific, once you get the "hypnotize big daddy" and "enrage" plasmids it's easy, cause when two are spawned at the same time (which is pretty often) you just hypnotise the one, lead him up to the other and enrage the other and then sit back and eat popcorn while they beat the snot out of each other. In the later levels I just blasted them with the electric stuff in the chemical thrower.

Anyway, that's my geeky accomplishment for the day.

I turned off the Vita chambers when I downloaded the game and never used them. I didn't see a point in coming back from death lacking in ammo, health kits, EVE hypos that I lost losing the fight when I could have them back and actually win the next one with a little more applicable skill.

This has nothing to do with anything, I'm just in before this gets moved to Games. :p

I usually set up a line of Trap bolts and lead him into them or find some explosive drums and put some proximity mines by them (Or just dump them on the drum and fire it at Big Daddy using TK.) You can basically one shot him that way.

If I could get over 100 Electric for the chemical thrower, that usually did the trick as long as there were no other enemies. Just hold the fire button until he's fried, then harvest--I mean, save the Little Sister.

Awesome! Sadly, I have not played bioshock since I got mass effect.

Ha, I just meleed the big daddies to death via a combination of swarm and melee strength/frost/speed upgrades for my wrench.

Hmm, I should try that in my next playthrough.

I was a wrench-man as well, saved bullets for when you needed them, but I figured Big Daddy is where you needed them. Now I'm interested.

Darnit, I knew there was a games related forum but got impatient cause there's so damn many.

Why save bullets? By the end of the game I was full up on every kind of ammunition. Kind of kicking myself for not getting more heat seeking missiles for the final boss, but that's it.

Oh, and I managed to go through the last level gauntlet without my girl dying. But there's no trophy, they make a big deal out of it and then pffft!

In survivor mode you also have to max out your electricity damage.

I did that but you can only put seven proximity mines on one object and in survivor mode that only gets him to about half health. And having them whale the snot out of each other is so hilarious....

It's for the PS3 as well guys. I've played both the PC and PS3 version. PC version was a little more fleshed out graphics wise.

Really? Is that a plotless twitch fps or is it actually worth playing?

Ah, and it's only for xbox so forget it.[/QUOTE]

Are you kidding? Is he kidding? He's kidding right?

Edit: Ok he's not kidding. Mass effect has an awesome plot with a wonderfully deep mythos. There is lots of talking and lots of reading. Like most bioware rpgs what you do and say has a pretty heavy effect on the story and your character but this time around I feel that it flows alot better. As for game play I personally feel there is a nice balance between the action and the rpg elements of the game. As far as the gun play is concerned it feels kind of like gears of war (with psychic powers). There is also tons to do and explore. So far my only gripe in the game is driving the mako across rough terrain on the explorable planets. I'm pretty sure everyone in that thing would be shaken into a fine paste if it were real.

Thats kind of a really brief review.
