Anyone else reading this? My son is buying them and they're very, very dark. The darkest, even.

I'm wondering if this series is going to be canon since they are killing people off right & left.

Hawkman? DEAD!

Interesting series so far.

You mean Blackest Night, the ongoing green lantern event that's happening right now?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure we had a thread on this, a few people we're reading it.

And yes, it's pretty gory. In a good way though.

Look at how bad-ass Aquaman has gotten.

that page would be so much more awesome if instead of "vuuvuuvuuvuuvuu" it said "yumyumyumyumyumyumyum"

It's DC's big crossover event of the summer (tying into a bundle of different books), it's been building in the pages of Green Lantern and Green Lantern Corps for the better part of two years, and it's written by Geoff Johns.

It's gonna be in continuity.

I refer you to the podcast you did with TNG. They are currently being dead.

The PC police are at Dave's house... you're getting him in trouble...

And who else thinks that some of the Black Lanterns will end up being back to life after BN?!

some? sure. but no way in hell all of them.

they've
resurrected the parents of both dick grayson, and tim drake. not only that, but ABIN SUR.

along with every single deceased GL buried in the GL morgue.

I've read the first two issues of this. Love it. I need to go back and get caught up on the build up in Green Lantern and GLC.

Anyone else think the resurrection of Pariah was an awesome touch?

I like the new subforums. With the excellent New Posts button finding new things to read is independent from the subforum they are posted in, and the subforums make browsing older posts by catagory simpler.

I, for one, like the new subforms. Now, I have a whole forum all to myself and my fellow comic nerds. ;) If I weren't going to be busy with school (and instead, maybe had an office job that I could monitor the subforum), I'd volunteer to be its mod.

My customers are loving this. Had a long talk today with someone about how DC has redeemed themselves after Final Crisis.

So far all the tie ins have been great too. The titans book came out yesterday, and they're killing off more Titans. That poor team can't catch a break.

Darkest Night

So, the new Dove is also at peace it seems... interesting.

Also, Was it just me or did Sinestro had 2 colours in GL #45, meaning that Superman isn't special in relation to the lights?

Anyone can have different colors at different/same times. it is in relation to what you are feeling at that moment in the emotional spectrum.

As for the dove thing...ugh. i mean, i understand what the dead dove has it, but the living one? That was a stretch.

Supes was the first that was show in... and you know how DC is with they super special awesome money maker... heck, up until the 80's they always redrawn his face in the comics drawn by other artists then the approved supes-face-drawing ones...

Because the original Dove had post dead character development?! As it is now it seems that being at peace is a pre-requisite for being Dove...

Yeah, and yet the living Dove was not at peace in the comic. Also, one would think a black lantern might try to acknowledge that soemthing is off with that one. Ah well, its going to be a big part of the story. Hence My ugh.

Darkest Night

As far as i can tell BL's aren't really thinking much...

But dove seemed "at peace" enough, so meh...

Yeah, I guess. Just not really with the whole thing that dove is going to be a big part of the story. Ah well. other than that, I am loving it so far.

Darkest Night

GL corps #40 hit this week, with plenty of awesome bits :D

especially

salaak pulling rank on the alpha lanterns, and verbally bitchslapping them by *quoting guy at them*

Got em with my normal batch of comics for the week. Fun stuff. Think I am done discussing it for a while though.

Darkest Night

I need to get caught up on my GL:Corps.

Also can we please get the title of this thread fixed?

Ahahahahahahaha, I loved this weeks issues, especially

Larfleeze running from the blacks on his world like a cartoon.

No big revelations at all, its pretty much playing out exactly as expected, but hot damn, I love this whole event.

Its true. This whole event is a thinly veiled metaphor about the terrible trials and tribulations of the African American throughout the history of the United States.

I can offer no more glowing words for this event other than I have been a lifelong Marvel comic guy (had nothing against DC, just grew up Marvel with the X-Men) and have begun buying my first DC issues just for this. So, so awesome.

A question though:
Why the hell is Dick Grayson now Batman and Bruce Wayne dead?? How'd I miss this?

Big thing that happened during Final Crisis

I love how Atrocious
raged himself back to life.

That was a holy shit moment for me.
Or how Sinestro
built a safety backup into all his Power Rings

I jaw dropped at Atom
chest bursting out from a black lantern..holy shit

I felt so sorry for Agent Orange :(
