Well, Kris and Scott have started posting Blamimations on PA-TV. For those of you who don't remember/have no idea what we're talking about, There was a time years ago that Kris Straub of Starslip and chainsawsuit teamed up with Scott Kurtz of PvP To make a bunch of low-budget flash animations that were pretty hilarious.
The first episode is pretty awesome for what it is: two guys joking around and making a flash animation from the result.

"Awesome" does not quite capture the emotion I was feeling when I watched that bit.
It was more like "Was I supposed to laugh?". At least in the end we got a hint where the episode had come from...

Don't listen to the mad Northsman. Blamnimations are some of the funniest things Scott has ever made!

I can see what they were going for, but it didn't do anything for me. I hate to say it, but the barely hiding the laughing came across to me as nothing more than amateurish. I know that's what they were going for but I didn't dig it.

I'm with the mad Finn. Did not find that funny at all.

Get Sharpe was taken [I'm pretty sure] word-for-word from a Daily Affirmation back in like May of '07. I've definitely heard that bit before.
So that part was kinda lame. Night Driver was better.
Its like saying, "It was the least smelly shit he's ever taken!"

BTW, what number is this in Scott's New Project list? I remember
#1 the pay-to-play fan club. Asset Bar, was it?
#2 Ding (hasn't updated since... last year?)
#3 the new Tales by Tavernlight with the ax-happy dwarf
I'm pretty sure there's more... and if the pattern holds, he'll be losing interest in this one as well in... two months?

Eh, In the past, the blamimations were kinda funny. This one had alot of potential, but never seemed to maximize it. Here's hoping they pick up in the future.

Look at the link. It takes you to Penny Arcade. THEY don't do things 1/2 way. This has a chance to get better.
#11
Baerdog
it was alright. I think I liked Night Driver better than Get Sharpe but neither one had me laughing as hard as I usually do at Penny Arcade stuff.
#12
North_Ranger
He has an 'acting voice'?
#13
ElJuski
I thought it was aight.

Night Driver was pretty funny.

There wasn't anything in it that appealed to me. It was like going to a birthday party where the host hired two local comedians that absolutely crack each other up during the act, with a random chuckle coming from somewhere in the audience occasionally, and more likely than not it was because they were laughing at some snide remark made near them.
The host, of course, knows the comedians and laughs uproariously throughout the act elbowing people next to them and saying, "aren't they the funniest!" and "Oh, oh, watch this, they're going to do the ferret bit, and, and, oh, you're just going to love it!"
But at least they are doing what they love, and they have an audience that appreciates it, so I don't mean to rain on their parade.
It just wasn't for me.

Yeah... it did nothing for me but honestly, despite my finding Kris really funny most of the time, the blaminations stuff they do never appealed to me.

I liked the old blamimation thingummies. This one kinda bored me a little. Best part of it was the one guy's chest hair. End logo was good, too.

TwoBit
Meh. It was Ok.
BUT ONLY OK.

Episode 2 is up and it's MUCH funnier!
Plus you'll recognize the first comic from our old You.0 comics...

Has Scott ever released PvP TV. One of those other projects he stuck with for a month or two.

Fin and Feather fanart, by Magnolia Porter of Bobwhite:
"If you f--- as badly as you Tetris, she already knows."
Tetris Cop was my fave of the two.

OH MY FUCKING GOD, THE LAMENESS!! IT BURNS!!! IT F***IN' BURNSSS!!!
Please, somebody, stop them from making this s*it! Or at least make Straub pull out before he's dragged into the abyss!
I am crying tears of shame here, and trying NOT to imagine Kurt dressed up as Mantara!
PLEASE, NO MORE!!! I'M CALLING UNCLE!! PLEASE, GOD!!

I chuckled quite a bit. It reminds me of when a friend and I start riffing the stupidest shit ever at each other and we end up bringing one another to tears laughing so hard. Stuff like garbage mermaids and the SS Pussyshovel and the like.
Yes, but it made me chuckle, the first one I couldn't even get all the way through. So I judge it "better", not "good" mind you, merely better than the first one.

Oh jesus fuck that was hard to watch. I couldn't even finish the mermaid one. I'm surprised though that it doesn't just end with with scott talking about how thankful he is to be such a pioneer of shitty animations.

You know, one of the reasons that I was excited about blamimations was my hope that Straub would bring back Deep King. But now that he brought it back... it was just the two episodes of deep king that he already did, pasted together.
And with different voice acting, which didn't seem nearly as funny. I blame Scott

Gusto
Outtakes is still the best Blamimation that will ever exist and I will take that to my grave.

Philosopher B.
I just can't get over the fact that I'm watching these on bleeding penny-arcade.com. Seriously, now.
That said, no matter how many times I see that ass from the deep king thingy, I will never cease to laugh. I wish I had saved those custom King of Farts comics.

Honestly, I wish that Kris would re-upload (or publish a collection of) the Web you.0 custom comics. Some of those were outright hilarious, and the long story-based ones that came about towards the end were legitimately epic.
