With Blood Bowl: Chaos Edition being 75% off, I decided I'd hold a contest to trick allow one more person to join me in this awesome strategy game. All you have to do is give me your funniest team name, being set in the Warhammer universe is not required.

The prize will likely go to the one guy that actually participates.

Ok... how about the first person that raises their hand?

I'm just going to stop trying to promote this game.

I already have it... otherwise I would have jumped in here earlier

I also do want to play some multiplayer but my schedule is hectic as hell lately and I just haven't had the time (plus... you will destroy me lol).

Pfft, I have an ogre team you can play. Trust me, if anyone can screw up a sure thing, it's Ogres*.


*If you don't know, Ogres are one of the 'hard' teams that almost never win. Right alongside Goblins, Vampires and Halflings. Especially halflings.

It's a game that has a little bit of a learning curve. The 'real time' version is a mode that the game creators added in and not true to the actual board game, it's also incredibly stupid and dumb. The classic mode, however, is awesome. Any time you ever see me on steam, hit me up, I can show you how to play. It's a great game once you learn how, but it does assume that you already know the rules.

I think the only real problem I have with this game is that yes, some teams really are truly fuxed. I don't know if the balance is that way on purpose, but it still bugs me

Of course, it's exactly like this on the tabletop...so...

I actually have no idea if arms can fall off in Blood Bowl.

It's uneven on purpose. Asymmetrical gameplay. Some teams are just straight up hard to win with (but fun to play). No one ever entered a halfling team into a tournament and expected to win, that's just how it is. And given that there is quite a bit of random chance involved with the dicerolls, there's always a chance that you'll just get unlucky.

Blood Bowl is a cruel game. You're going to fail things that should have a very low chance of failing. Your favorite player is going to roll snake eyes on a going for it and fall down and break his neck. The game is fair in that it's unfair to both sides, and the main strategy in the game is learning how to manage risk.

And elf teams will always pull of spectacular bullshit at the last minute to beat you in what you were certain was a done game.


And @bhamv3, was that your way of saying you wanted the free copy?

Well, I certainly won't say no, but I just like participating in forum contests in general.

Well, you're certainly in the lead.

Anyone that's ever played a Games Workshop game, be it Fantasy, 40K, Blood Bowl, Space Hulk, whatever, knows that you're going to roll those ones when you very, very much need them the least. The game is SUPER realistic to the board game in that way.

I've actually killed an elven Star Player that way once, going for it for a touch down, snake eyes, reroll, okay, last step, snake eyes, another reroll (one was a Team reroll and the other was from a skill though I forget which), and yet again. Retired that team after that match. Yes, the Khemri won that one


Anyway, I already own the first steam edition, without the expansions, and I can't play with you or I would. Giving me the free copy would be sort of ridiculous

My team'd be the Fuzzy Ones, though, with Gas Bandit as a Troll, and the rest of the team named after characters such as the Fonz, and likeable cops like Charon.

If you have at least Legendary Edition, you can still play with people using Chaos Edition. And if you don't want the free copy, the later editions are usually heavily discounted for people who own previous editions on steam.
