Blu-ray in a latop, less reliable?

My sister is going to be buying a new latop, the model she's got her eye on currently has a free upgrade to a Blu-ray drive, but she's wondering if that will make it more likely to break down.

Anyone know if there are any disadvantages to going with a Blu-ray drive if it's the same price?

I haven't heard of any problems with them. If it's the same price might as well go for it.
