If that last guy had asked whether buffs were additive, multiplicative, or both, he might have lived.

Poor bastard.

Game's pretty good actually. Funnier than I anticipated (barely laughed at the promo material) and definitley solid.

Five hours in, and the game's falling apart. The game literally punishes you for being too low of a level. You do less damage, get less xp, and there seem to be extra enemies, just for the douche factor. It was literally impossible to get through the mission I picked, not because of difficulty, but because there simply was not enough ammo. I gained one level, and breezed through the mission as if it were cake.

The vehicle travel is ok, sometimes, others, your car gets stuck and you have to hoof it.

The game's gun variety is ruined by the fact that you can only hold a few weapons at a time. This means that if you want a pistol with a scope, something that does serious damage, and something that eats shields, you're carrying three pistols. Every once in awhile I suppose you get lucky, but in a level or two, your ubergun is worthless and your scavenging for anything that does more damage.

Certain enemies seem to be pretty immune to bullets, which doesn't make the game any harder, it only makes you run out of ammo faster. I like to refer to this as Halo 3 syndrome.

Overall, what could have been a great game is mired down by flaws.

It took awhile to get into the game, by the end, I was really enjoying it. I'm even on the second playthrough and enjoying going through the same motions. The loot issue does go away when you get more of the storage deck upgrades. I'm still a bit miffed over the level thing - only two levels difference and you're useless? Kinda agitating.

I will stick with to my guns that the super armored/healthed (badass/boss types - skagzilla, mothrakk)enemies were just a lazy way of increasing difficulty. In fact, that seems to be the only way they thought to make the game difficult - increase health to epic proportions or spawn a billion enemies. I did notice that some of them do have weak spots, but when you're up against two heavily armored skags and their weak spot is their open mouth, which they don't open anywhere near enough, you're in it for the long haul.

Also, the ending is complete and total ass. From the boss fight to the credits, it's just the worst ending package I've ever seen in a game, and I've seen "Congratulation!!" This is probably balanced by all that epic high powered testosterone rambo shit that happened in the hour of gameplay before that that contained levels 28-35. THAT was beautful. Too bad they couldn't keep it up.

Overall, I'd say 84% rating is about right for this game. It's a B minus. Fun, but nothing truly special. I guess the majority of my negativity toward the game was the intro was badass/fun enough that when the game came to grinding halts because I simply didn't grind out enough/occasionally for no reason with way overpowered enemies that I was the same level as, I got pissed.

In the end, you're right. I'm not a hardcore gamer...anymore. I grew up in the NES days where if you weren't hardcore, you probably weren't going to see the ending of most games. Nowadays, it agitates me. I just want to Rambo my way through shit. Just set it to easy and charge in guns blazing.

Haha, too late! It's no big deal, you made valid points!

EDIT: There, I edited your original post out of it, so if there was any concern, it's gone now :)
