BP Whistleblowers - Where are they now?

Dead, in prison or just plain missing.

All 11 of them. Yes, I saw this on Reddit. Now, you all know me. I don't fall into all the conspiracy theories. In fact, I think most conspiracy theories are bullshit and delusional. But 11 people in less than a year, all with ties to whistleblowing on BP?

And if you are wondering about the voracity of these accusations, I went through the list and found the reports on the ones that did not already have links in the blog. You can find these links here if interested.

Thoughts? Is this just a huge coincidence or is it a real-life Pelican Brief?

Reddit is trying to winnow them down a bit. Started with 11. Take off Ted Stevens because that's kind of dumb. Also, the last guy - Joseph Morrissey - died April 6, 2010 and the blowout was April 20, 2010.

It's still 9 people, but my skepticism is growing a bit.

Most of them have really tenuous links to BP. I doubt BP gives 2 shits about a guy riding across country on a bicycle. There was much more attention when he died than if he finished. So maybe ExxonMobil is whacking these guys as a frame job against BP.

Are these all people who really were BP whistleblowers for this specific incident? I've read the link, but it's not terribly obvious. BP is a huge company, and at any given time there are hundreds of thousands of employees working for them, and thousands or tens of thousands of activists campaigning against them.

With that much human capital tied to BP I would be surprised if 10-20 people who were related to a given issue didn't die each year.

I'd be curious to know how many "whistleblowers" are still alive, and how many whistleblowers died due to causes that aren't likely conspiratorial (heart attack, cancer, diabetes, etc).

Or, in other words, it could be a conspiracy, but it's quite possible that this is really just a conspiracy theorist's wet dream, and that there's really nothing special there. Keep in mind that if someone only heard what a 9/11 nut said about 9/11 without being shown the whole picture, one would have to come to the same conclusion as the 9/11 nut.

I strongly suspect we aren't getting a full picture here, and I'd like to see a full list of all BP whistleblowers, alive and dead, as well as a bunch more information before I concluded anything.

If we only could see the big picture, we'd know what kind of guy we were losing.
