Export thread

There are two files I've downloaded for work, both .ZIP, but if I try to extract them, I get "Windows cannot open the folder. The Compressed (zipped) Folder <filepath> is invalid," and if I try to open them with 7-zip, I get, "Can not open file <filepath> as archive."

Frustrating. Neither error has a number associated with it or anything like that.

Is it a password protected file?

Maybe try ALZip? I didn't like the program for some reason, but I remember it did open up a file where 7zip failed.

Alright, let's give this a shot here...

You might also try The Unarchiver on Mac/Linux, though it might also be you're trying to open up a file that isn't really a .ZIP and just somehow got that extension left on it. Try opening it up with a text editor to see what's in it, the first line or so may give you some hints.

Well, this worked. It identified the ZIP files as corrupt, offered to restore them, so I said yes, and everything's good. Sweet. Thanks!
