Car Brakes etc.

So yesterday my wife says she's hearing some squealing when she brakes in the car we bought about 6 months ago (it's a 2009 Hyndia Sonata with about 17000 miles on it). I told her I would go get it checked out at the dealer.

So here I am and they are taking a look at it. Personally I don't think it's going to be anything. When we bought the car 6 months ago the breaks were all at around 10-15% so it would be almost impossible for them to have gotten worn out in 6 months of basic everyday use right?
I really don't know anything about brakes (or cars for that matter)... anyone have any ideas on how fast brakes can go out assuming they were in really good condition when we bought the car?

Yeah, I figure it's not going to be anything at all, I didn't hear any noise when I drove it today.

10-15% remaining or 10-15% worn?

Are they disc brakes front and back or just the front?

Most likely it's debris stuck in the dust shield or something. I once had a small pebble get lodged in there and the car's brakes would screech like hell.

Worn.

The guy just came out as I was typing and said he thinks it was just water since neither he nor I could get it to make any noise. So thats awesome.

This thread is now about...

How much do you love them?

Gedney likes to call itself "The Minnesota pickle". They had it in a pretty catchy jingle that I can't get out of my head even though it's been years since I've heard it.

Oh, and the urban dictonaries definition of the Minnesota pickle is very interesting...

Oh, man, pickles. Bread and butter, dill, on burgers, on a Cuban sandwich, made into a relish, eaten off a veggie tray or straight out of the goddamn jar. Love em. In fact, Ima get me a jar tonight to snack on while I watch The Walking Dead. I forget about pickles. Don't know why.

Back on topic, brakes are really easy to replace. You all should totally come over to my house and we'll have a brake replacement party.

Back on back on topic, I love me some pickles.
