Nostalgia Critic is ended.Well folks, we got our next future review on That guy with the glasses!
This doesn't sound that off from the plot of later Castlevania games. Isn't the plot of the Genesis one essentially about vampire women trying to bring back Dracula early? And the main character of some of the DS titles IS Dracula reincarnated in a mortal body. This just sounds like a mishmash of a few titles in the series. His take was essentially a re-do of the Francis Ford Coppola Dracula film, with a slasher film's rules padding out the middle, and an ending where Dracula's lover is a vampire waiting for Dracula to be reincarnated as a mortal man. Complete garbage.
What I described about the woman waiting was the ending, and again, it's a role reversal of the Coppola Dracula's set-up. That's just the ending. Most of the movie was Belmont derping around the castle while Dracula picked off the soldiers under his command one by one. Just like Resident Evil, Event Horizon, and Alien vs Predator--other Paul WS Anderson films. This doesn't sound that off from the plot of later Castlevania games. And yes, it's likely to suck, but I'll probably see it just for Michael Dorn.
Firstly, a game's rundown doesn't make a movie plot.- Start
- Go to Point A
- Kill a Boss
- Go to Point B
- Keep repeating until you get to Dracula
- Kill First Form
- Kill Second Form
- Credits
With a good writer and director, that would make an awesome movie.I almost hope they use Castlevania 3's story as a basis, as it's the most coherent as a plotline...
- Dracula arises for the first time since he gained power, casts darkness over Transylvania.
- Trevor Belmont (who's family was exiled because of their powers) returns when he hears Dracula has returned, goes on his one man path of destruction against Dracula's forces.
- Trevor meets allies along the way (Grant DeNasty, Slypha Belnades, Alucard Tepes) who are also after Dracula for their own reasons.
- They get to the castle, much ass is kicked. Include the Grant/Slyhpa/Trevor love triangle along the way to spice things up
- They confront Dracula (who should have been taunting them along the way, like a proper movie villian) and defeat him.
- Do ending stuff (Trevor and Slypha become a couple, Grant feel rejected and goes back to being a pirate, Alucard seals himself away)
- Roll Credits
- Stinger scene is Death arriving and implying that he will begin the process to resurrect Dracula once again.
- If the movie does well, do Symphony of the Night next.
... but of course, that would require someone other than Anderson to helm it.
