By the way, I got this in an email. I don't see it on the front page of what I linked but the email says it's a free weekend.

I played it for a day or two and found it to be a step back from CoH.

I didn't even like character creator as much.

What I didn't like at all was the "respec" you have to go backward PER power. that is a big step back for me vs CoH.

It would have been nicer if I could replace a power (if allow) or just do a full respec instead. What I do like however, is the ability to TEST out the power before you commit.

Couldn't get into Champions. I like Star Trek Online, actually. It's not great but it's moderately solid, if a bit over-priced, IMHO.

I thought Champions was going to be a vast improvement on CoH, which I adored. I thought so much that I bought a life-time subscription to the game. I haven't played Champions in a while. I think I was mostly just disappointed with the Halloween Event and that kinda turned me off the game. They made a big deal about there being werewolves vs vampire hunters pvp, and in theory that sounds amazingly awesome. But in reality all it involved was going to a zone, picking a side, and being turned into either a generic Werewolf or Van Helsing model. Then you'd run across the frozen lake to kill anyone on the opposing side. It was so easy to switch sides that it wasn't long before the winning side was unbeatable. But eventually people just resorted to trading kills back and forth just for the sake of the achievements.
I could possibly get back into it and see if any of you folks are on. My account is @Shawnacy

And I still have some Cryptic points. I should do some shopping for new costume pieces.

Ahh.. that is kinda crummy (the auto switch sides) of course if a company put anything with achievements, people will try their best to get BOTH if possible. The key would be give it EITHER but NOT BOTH also have a real reward when you choose a side (like maybe a side power)

Tried it when it launched and it just didn't run well enough to be worth it on my crappy video card.

But aside from that, I've become disenchanted with MMOs as a whole ever since hitting top level in WoW for the first time.
