I can't believe I missed this last month... but it looks like the great Image Comic title CHEW got picked up for TV. It's one of my monthly must reads, the script was written by two guys from Eureka, and it's being produced by the same guys who are doing The Walking Dead.
For those not in the know, CHEW is a bit... weird. It's about a world were the FDA is now the toughest law enforcement agency in the US, all thanks to the Bird Flu epidemic. The story follows Tony Chu, an unorthodox psychic detective who can relive the memories of anything he eats... including people but excluding beats. He works for the FDA and the police, solving murders, stopping vampires, and shutting down illegal chicken speakeasys. It's a hilarious, nonsensical detective series full of eccentric characters, espionage, and illegal cock fighting luchadores.
I can't wait.
