I'm pondering switching my home internet service to Clear, and dropping my phone line altogether.. I was wondering if anyone here had any comments about Clear, whether good or bad, about the service, the quality, any problems with downloads, etc etc. I'd be sharing my connection with my landlords, so it's going to need to be fairly fast and reasonably robust.

Never heard of it. Is it a regional thing?

My work is testing out the Clear router (can hook up to 4 PC) and wireless card. They are pretty good as long you are near the city. My boss live a little further out from the city and they lack the towers for the signal. You might want to check the coverage.
As for it working, when you do have a signal it is great. Easy to use. and pretty fast. (I don't have the exact speed)

not sure.. www.clear.com I think they're new, they're mobile based but they have home routers and modems. I looked through their TOS and there's a user agreement that prohibits lots of video downloads specifically, and that (basically since it's mobile - cell phones) you can't expect to have a constant always on connection,... Then there was the part that your neighbors could get you in trouble with the service for "hogging" the service. So I doubt I will get it after all.

Plus if you get the contract and the connection where you are is bad, there is NO trial period.
