Well, my mother- & father-in-law are being evacuated from Colorado Springs right now. They are going to stay with relatives in North Platte, Nebraska.
They are safe but their house might not be. So far several landmarks in Colorado have been destroyed. One tourist destination - the Flying W Ranch - is just gone. Holy shit.
Here are some pictures from the fire. No, my in-laws did not take them. My dad is too busy getting stuff packed and getting the hell out of there.

My Geography of the area is a bit fuzzy but my Cousin lives between there and Denver. I have no idea how close they are to the fire.
It is a shame about the fire. I was in Colorado Springs for the 4th of July when I was a teen. It is such a beautiful town.

Wow!
JewWario hasn't been evacuated yet and he says he's smack dab in the middle of Colorado Springs. I wonder how big the town is.

So much of this state is burning. Hell, Boulder was feeling left out and called lightning to set itself on fire yesterday too. I mean damn, the High Park fire is up to something like 87k acres and is still only 65% contained. Thankfully I don't live in an area that tends to have these problems, I just get to watch massive smoke clouds rising out of the mountains.

Just found out that one of the houses in that first picture is a friend of mine. He and his wife went to high school with me and we were pretty close back in the day.
They've lived there 15 years and they've lost literally everything but the clothes on their backs. Right now they are taking refuge at a high school.

Correction: They are NOT staying in a high school. They stopped at the high school to register with the Red Cross, then they went to stay with some friends.

I'm flapping my arms as fast I can in the hopes that it will somehow cause torrential rain in the area.
...
I'm sorry, I just don't know what else to say I'm sorry for your friends, Dave.
Yeah I have an Aunt & Uncle that have been evacuated within the last couple of days. They're staying with their daughter. The house is still standing, but the fires are closing in - within a mile as the crow flies.
