Ughhh has this happened to anybody? I launched Steam to play some Left 4 Dead and the first two times it says it couldn't connect to the internet even though I am. Anyhoo I restarted my PC and that seemed to fix my problem. However finally being able to launch Steam I noticed all you guys I had saved on my friends list are now gone. This is fucking retarted.

I'm just a bit pissed right now.

It's Steam acting up today. Don't worry abut it... Valve is working on the problem already.

I was just about to post a thread on this. All my friends are gone right now. Hopefully they'll all come back, unlike when I lost all my L4D2 achievements.

That sucks. I thought only because I restarted my PC and it caused Steam to go all wonky.
Damn I would hate loosing all those hard earned achievements.

I didn't mind loosing all my achievements that much, since I didn't try and earn most of them. I just played and got what I got. The ones I've gotten back are only ones I thought I'd have fun getting again (or ones I just got by playing normally). If I'd lost my HL2:Ep2 achievements, that I'd be mad about.

Huh now its back to normal. Does Steam do that often? It's the first time I've
noticed it acting finicky.

I'm not sure if it's happened before. AIM, MSN, Yahoo and other instant messengers have cut me off from my friends lists far more often than Steam has.

I am NEVER doing that shit with the Gnome in Ep.2 EVER AGAIN. That bit with the car is hard as fuck if your trying to move the gnome.

EDIT: This is what is causing the problems with Steam: the Beta for it's upcoming makeover.

For the long section of train tracks where you're dodging the helicopter, I ended up moving the gnome the whole way on foot, then going back for the car. The challenge was interesting, but there is no way I'm ever doing that again. I almost didn't do the Guardin' Gnome achievement in L4D2 because I was so sick of gnome handling.

You mean you guys didn't get a message in your friends list before about Steam maintenance before loosing it?! I did, but was afraid the missing friends was the maintenance gone bad... especially since i still had the hal4um group on it...

Nice... i have IE made to not allow almost anything... gets really annoying when i have to copy/paste addresses into FF to log in etc.
