Actually it turns out Taco Bell's sales decreased while that ad campaign was on.
Nevertheless Gidget was quite a little cutie.

I used to love those commercials when I was younger. Even when they jumped the shelf and the little guy (well, I thought it was a guy at the time) teamed up with Godzilla to promote Taco Bell AND the Matthew Broderick movie.
Sadly, that great legacy dwindled, no thanks to Paris Hilton and Beverly Hills Chihuahua.

But everyone knew what Taco Bell was... which goes to show that a successful commercial =! more sales... (i think they even have a term for that in marketing, i'll have to ask my bro).
