DDP now Helping Scott "Razor Ramon" Hall

You guys have heard me go on and on about Diamond Dallas Page's Yoga for Regular Guys (aka: YRG). I've done yoga for years, but it's still my favourite style.

Late last year, Page invited Jake "The Snake" Roberts to move in with him in Atlanta, Georgia. Page called it the "Accountability Crib." Jake, a long time alcohol and drug abuser, has been the butt end of many wrestling fans jokes. There was one pay-per-view where he showed up completely plastered, couldn't even wrestle, and did really obnoxious things like putting the snake between his legs and having old women feel him up. This was, by the way, supposed to be a kids show.

So, when Jake moved in with Page, I didn't really know if he could be fixed. Page posted a video early in where he picked Jake up from the airport to find Roberts drunk. After that, though, Jake started taking a drug called Anti-Abuse, where your system will force-purge any alcohol you drink. Since then, he's been 60 days sober and 60 pounds lighter:

Now, Page and Jake have invited Scott Hall, formally known as Razor Ramon, to join them in the Accountability Crib. This video made my eyes water:

I really hope they can do the same for him. Jake looks like a million bucks these days.

And I don't say all this as a wrestling fan or even a yogi. I say this as a human being. The things that DDP is doing for these guys is amazing.

The cynic in me can't find anything to comment on. DDP has found something that he really believes in that has worked wonders for him, and is working his ass off to share it with whoever is willing to try. Good for him.

And really, it's not even just about the yoga, even if it might be a great way to promote it. He's helping these guys fix their lives.

I've been following this and it's just amazing. DDP is really doing something for these guys because he cares about them, and cares about helping people. It's really fantastic and I hope that Scott wants this as bad as he seemed. That's the only way it will work out, but if he does want it, DDP is probably his only chance to make it happen.

If there's anyone who could use it, it's Scott Hall. Man's a walking disaster.

You get way onboard DDPs Yoga system and he'll call you up to see how you're doing and to encourage you. The guy is pretty amazing at helping folks.

I never really knew DDP back during his wrestling days, and I'm not exactly what you'd call a yoga enthusiast...

But this is awesome, and it's incredibly classy of him to use a system to help his friends (as well as complete strangers) out, and get their lives back on track. Frankie's video is one that I've got squirrelled away in my bookmarks for when I need a shot of motivation.

Always been a DDP fan, but damn, what he's doing now is incredible. Fantastic human being to invest himself into others.

DDP just posted this on Facebook. There was some concern on whether Hall would show up at all. Even his old friend, Kevin Nash, didn't think he'd go.

My god. It's only been like 10 years since I've seen Scott Hell and it's like he's been hit with the mummy's curse. Kids, THIS is why you don't do drugs.

Compare this to DDP, who looks like he hasn't aged a day since the WCW era, and Jake, who's looking better than he has since the 90's.

There's some that are asking why he's in a wheelchair and I honestly don't have an answer. I know Hall had begun detox before heading to DDP's. I don't know anything about detox programs, but maybe that's a part of it?

Is that an ICP shirt that Hall is wearing? He may be beyond help.

I dunno, you kind of noticed it half covered up. Should we be worried about you?

Someone once gave me a shirt that looked like an ordinary t-shirt, but I did not notice the hatchet man symbol on the sleeve. It remained unnoticed until one day I was approached by a juggalo, who thought he had discovered a kindred spirit, and it took me the better part of 20 minutes to realize why the hell he thought I liked ICP when he pointed to the logo.

That's what that is? Oh, no no no, there's been a grave mistake.

Now I have a critical eye for that sort of thing. Also, me and the guy that gave me the shirt aren't friends anymore. He burnt that bridge when he made me talk to a juggalo.

Well, I recall when he had his last big public incident, he was looking like he was having a lot of trouble getting around without help. It may be that the combination of booze/painkillers/drugs have just taken that much of a toll on his body. I'm sure he's capable of moving around on his own still (well, probably not very gingerly at least), but DDP probably thought it best to just wheel him around and keep him comfortable while they try to show him that staying is what he should want for himself.

Straight Edge Society Ole Timers Edition. I'd watch it.

Seriously good for them though, especially if they can get him help.

I remember seeing some bit about him on ESPN, I think it was. Dude sort of hobbles around in a daze. He doesn't seem like the type who can walk more than a few feet without some real help, so it's probably just the safest way to get him out of a busy airport.

He's also talkikg about getting into acting. When Page said this is a Jake we've never seen before, he wasn't kidding. . I jsut hope he can stay like this when not living under DDP's roof. I have faith he can, bit that'll be the real test for him.

The real test will be if he can recover after his first relapse.

Because it'll happen, more than likely.

Hasn't he been out of DDP's place for a while now?

A short news piece on Jake Roberts, Dallas Page, and Scott Hall. Jake's still living with Dallas, but Scott's now living with his son and helping him with his wrestling career. Jake had a brief fall off the wagon, but he bounced back. In fact, he even said to Dallas, "I had two drinks with a friend, but that's it. I stopped. I didn't want anymore." For an alcoholic, that's huge.

But yeah, sorry to necro the thread, but you guys know how genuinely passionate I am about both the workout and seeing some of my favourite wrestlers changing their life instead of being another statistic.

No worries about the necro, bro... it's always good to something like this having a genuine, positive, and CONTINUOUS effect on the lives of people who need it.

Seriously, this is great stuff.
