It's also a completely plausible scenario, given the source materials. Who shows up to save Mechagodzilla when he gets defeated in the movies? No one. It gets blown up, repaired, and THEN it wins in the next fight. But any time the Power Rangers were on the ropes, the Green Ranger and Dragonzord would show up to kick ass. It's not particularly FAIR... but it's true to source.

Besides, the Power Slash from the Power Sword should have caused Mechagodzilla to slowly fall down and explode.

Heh. It was super funny when they debuted that during the live charity webathon. There was much argument and Spoony followed Twitter for Borg/Dalek opinions for hours afterwards. It was great. For the record, I think that Sage and Angry Joe were pro-Mechagodzilla while Linkara and Spoony pointed out that Tommy WAS a member of the team and the Dragonzord should count.

However, I agree that it was a touch of a cop out. They were using the Dragonzord Fighting Mode, not the Mega Dragonzord (which is the Dino Megazord wearing the Dragonzord as a cape). The latter would have been a more fair version.
