NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Oh well.
I know, man, I know. Let it all out.

I'm still holding out hope that the Diablo 2 1.13 patch they said would take about a month to create (back in MAY) will come out before the new year. HAH! Fat chance

How crazy would you have to be to think it was coming out next year... the classes aren't even half finished etc. SC2 looked more ready when they announced it and how long has it been and the game still isn't out...

If you expect Blizzard to release anything within 3yrs of them announcing it, you haven't learned anything. The only exception being WoW xpacs, then it takes a year longer than they say it will.

If you like FPS's, get Borderlands. It is the best successor to the Diablo genre that has come out. Actually its the only one that hasn't sucked that has ever come out, and it doesn't just not suck, its actually fantastic.

I second Necronic on the Borderlands recommendation. It is the only action RPG to hold my attention for more than 10 minutes since the release of D2 way back in the day. It's fun but not quite D2 in terms of replay value. What can compare to D2 when I keep coming back after nearly a decade? One warning about Borderlands, it is a first-person action RPG. It is what "Hellgate London" should have been.

That said, can we go ahead and release the D2 patch already? I would even be happy with an announcement that no patch will be forthcoming and no ladder reset will occur. I started to play D2 again for the 10th time and realized a patch/ladder rest was announced earlier this year. Now what?

I agree. It's to the point of silly. I mean, they could improve a couple crummy skills, drop the damage of hammers slightly (no, not completely nerf it, it serves its purpose), lower immunity to high resistance so mono-builds can be played again (yay diversity in builds!), and maybe add a few items. That would completely change the game play.

I disagree. See Torchlight.

I'd probably say Torchlight is probably the most direct successor to Diablo seeing as most of the development team are old hands from Blizzard North.

On topic. I dunno what it is but I'm not really in anticipation of Diablo III or Starcraft II. Their new IP however I'm really interested in, even if it's just because there is nothing really known about it.

I'm going nuts trying to imagine what kind of MMO they could possibly be doing, as they've already stated it'd be based on a new IP and they already have a "Fantasy" world and if they were going Sci-Fi they would have gone with the existing "Starcraft" world.

Second Life: Blizzard Edition

I keed I keed.

I am still holding out for some sort of good post-apocalypse style MMO, with crazy mutants, weird radiated locations, and cool cars. NCSoft already tried it with Auto-Assault, which failed, but I think Blizzard could do a better job of gathering interest towards that type of game.

A steampunk type of MMO from Blizzard would be great. I'm thinking a Shadowrun type of thing.
The only issue is that WarCraft already has a lot of steampunk, it is the whole driving behind the gnomes and goblins and we now have gone to new levels with things like the Skybreaker. Does not mean one designed around the steampunk concept can't be developed, just a little bit of a retread.

I really think whatever it is, the new game will be more modern age situated.
