This being "the best Christmas movie ever" is a kind of tired joke at this point, but Die Hard might be the best action movie ever, period.

Charlie would know all about tired jokes.

That being said, I highly enjoy the entire -Die Hard- series. They do what they're supposed to, plot thin, action heavy, heroic main character, slappy sidekicks, etc etc. They have definitely set a high standard for that genre.
