Do you think the plethora of the digital music format and kids 'mixing phat beats' on their computers then pressing play, random, on an itunes playlist is the lazy bastard version of DJ-ing?

This may surprise you, but no. I like the fact that people are trying new things and more power to them. The only time I think this is lazy and bad is when people think that because they did this they are actual DJs and can do things like play wedding dances or parties. But while they know how to mix the things THEY like they can't read crowds, play what everyone else likes, etc.
So while I don't mind that they do this it's NOT DJing and until they have the experience with working the crowd they won't be. It's like people thinking they can play guitar after playing Rock Band.
