I have to agree with some of the commenters: the guy was lucky the thief was an idiot. Let's hope he doesn't track down the author with a gun.

Downside, I believe MobileME costs 99 bucks. Add that on top of the Apple Care Plan (70 bucks or so) and the iphone can get pricey.

I just did and read the whole thing....and I'm not sure that's a win. The dude who did it is now just gone? And we never find out if the escrow company was legit or not. Hmmm.
