So this is a master thread for where to go if you need help. If you have something important to contribute please pm me or post it here and I'll add it to the top post.
What this thread is for: A thread for ways to find help or get help for a variety of things including but not limited to mental, physical or emotional issues.
What it is not for: General advice . Nothing wrong with generalized advice but I won't post it in the main post.
There's always help available for you, no matter who you are, what you have done (or think you have done), or what you struggle with.
I cannot stress this enough: Please, reach out to someone or one of the organizations listed here if you need help.

How to find a therapist or counselor:
a) Go here:
http://therapists.psychologytoday.c...se_Link&utm_campaign=PT_TopNav_Find_Therapist
b) When you put in your city/state narrow your search by selecting anything that is relevant under the "Issues" section
c) If you have survivor of any kind of trauma (major or minor) my wife, an expert in this subject suggests selecting "EMDR" & "Cognitive Behavior (CBT)" under the "Approach" section.
d) It's often helpful to ask for a free 30 minute consultation to see if the therapist is a good fit. It's not strange to find that different people and different therapists sometimes click or don't click. Just make sure you have a good connection with the therapist. A huge part of the reason therapy is effective is because of trust between you and your therapist, so if they aren't a good fit, find a different one.
e) Give it a little time. If you find someone who seems to be a good fit, give them a chance. Therapy isn't something that "fixes" things quickly. Hell, half the time or more the "presenting issue" (What you come in and say is the problem/issue) isn't really the thing that needs the most work so, take it slow and be open to the process.

Good Therapy also has some links that can be useful, such as What to do if You're in Crisis and How to Help Someone Who Needs Therapy - toward the bottom of the page there is information about helping someone in a crisis situation and links specific to suicide within that section.
4) If someone you know, here or in RL, that has expressed a plan to commit suicide,
you should act immediately. Never assume that it's a joke, or they won't really do it, or that it's none of your business, call the authorities immediately.
