Edmonton is armed to the teeth?

So this will be of little interest to just about everyone, I'm sure, but I live in a city that often hears itself described as the Murder Capital of Canada, One of the Most Dangerous Cities, and a place with a Culture of Violence. Basically all of this nonsense comes from the same asshole, and his name his Bill Pitt. He teaches Criminology at the university I attend.

Crime rates in Edmonton, and around Canada have been trending downward, and well, I'll just get to the point:

Now, thankfully, there is a website dedicated entirely to calling him out on his crap.

Hilarious.

Yeah, that guy is a fucking asshole. Don't get me wrong, Edmonton has it's issues, but it's still not quite at Winnipeg levels yet. Hell, Edmonton doesn't have anything on Hobbema even. One of my old watchmates is in Hobbema now. It's gotten a little better since he's been there.

Regina is the Canadian city that should be violent, what with being pronounced like that.

Regina also has 1000 RCMP cadets at any given time training there. It's where we all get trained.

Regina is the city that rhymes with fun.

Also when you mentioned murder capitol I was going to be surprised at another winnipeger here :p

Ah, good ol' boring Dundurn, SK, where the most I have to worry about is a gopher on a sugar high.

I worry enough in living in the Abbotsford/Langley area, we were the murder capital. Now all of the gangsters ore either dead or in jail.

Just out of curiosity - what exactly is the national crime rate in Canda, vis-a-vis say the USA?
