Alright, I've finally finished this. Gotta say, I'm pretty impressed with this one. Lots of stuff to do, lots of history to explore, and some really great items. It's like they combined the best parts of Dead Money and Honest Hearts into one package. I can't wait for The Lonesome Road... should be out sometime in August/September.

Alright, now for the specific comments. I'm going to say what each section covers, but include it in spoilers.

Length is about 5-8 hours, if you do everything. Main story is maybe half that alone.

Story
You find a crashed satellite at a drive in, which transports you to Big MT, a lost treasure trove of pre-war technology. Unfortunately, someone steals your brain before you can get to looting. Your objective? Discover lost technology and use it to defeat Dr. Mobius and his army of robot scorpions! However, is everything really what it seems?

In all seriousness, the main plot of Old World Blues is a shout-out to the old b-movies of the 50's, like Plan 9 From Outer Space. It's very humorous, but it's very much a tale of science run-amok and it really shows why the world of Fallout is so messed up. Once you meet Dr. Mobius it becomes very apparent that ALL the brains in Big MT are out of their minds, but at least he realizes it.

However, like Honest Hearts, Old World Blues contains a b-plot that steals he show: Ulysses's Journey through the Big MT. To those who don't know, Ulysses is a man out for the blood of the Courier, though you don't not know why (though he IS affiliated with Caesar's Legion). If you look around Big MT, you'll often see reoccurring graffiti in the shape of a star and a flag. This is a sign that Ulysses was there... and if you look at some of the things he was looking at, you can only shudder at what he has planned for you.

- Weather Control
- Artillery
- Saturnite Alloy
- Holograms (like the ones in Dead Money. You know, the invincible death machine holograms?)
- Medical Experimentation

You can also find logs and notes from Christine Royce and Father Elijah, both characters from Dead Money who had traveled here before heading into the Sierra Madre. You can find special items related to them, as well a log that contains Christine's original, unaltered voice.

The story between the Courier and Ulysses will come to a head in The Lonesome Road. When they meet at The Divide, the story of New Vegas will end. By the looks of the things he'll be packing, it's apparent that Ulysses will make it a day we'll never forget.

Items
They really outdid themselves this time. There are tons of new items, many of which are specially designed to be more effective against robots. All of them have a sleek futuristic design and a few of them can be upgraded to be VERY effective. To mention some specifically...

Positronic Axes - Very cool looking laser axes that do good damage and come in a throwing variety as well.

K-9000 - This is a special autocannon that houses a dog's brain that helps with aiming. Barks and has little robotic dog ears that move around like a dog's.

Sonic Emitter - Does alright damage, can be upgraded to destroy forcefields, and you can alter the sound of it. Very handy.

Stealth Suit Mk. II - This is an upgraded version of the Assassin suit from Dead Money. You can do some rather fun tests to upgrade it even further, making it one of the better armors in the game. It's DT is low though.

Hazmat Suit - Remember the suits the Ghost People in Dead Money wore? This is it. It's got a helmet that gives night vision and the suit itself gives +85 Poison resist.

There are also some rather good food items (like Thick Red Paste) and new craft recipes. You can make skill books now, if you find the recipes for them.

Perks
The level related perks kinda suck this time around, but they DO give us the option to stop our leveling at 30 to increase the challenge. They also gave us the Skilled perk, a Fallout staple that was removed from Fallout 3. Really, the only decent new Perk is the one that lets enemies occasionally drop the new, powerful food items... and even then it's really only useful for Hardcore Mode.

That being said, they give you A LOT of really great new perks related to new implants you can receive, as well as ones related to the story of the DLC. Without spending a cap, your going to get a DT boost, a STR boost, Addiction/Poison resistance and a bonus for using Stimpacks. If you go out and find the programs for them, you can get implants that will increase your movement speed while sneaking, remove radiation from contaminated water sources, and one that will give you enhanced healing from food.

You also get new perks against abominations created in Big MT: Cazadors and Nightstalkers. Yes, you can blame asshole flying brains for Cazadors. In retrospect, this makes absolute sense.

The Sink
The Sink is what they call your base of operations and it's actually really impressive. Aside from looking like a high-tech house, if you look for programs, you can literally do anything you want from it. To list...

- Sleep
- Buy and Sell items
- Grow plants and turn them into a paste that will let you remake them into whatever plant you need at any campfire
- Fill empty containers with purified water (or just drink some)
- Break down all sorts of items (books, pencils, plates, toasters, coffee mugs) into useful items (like wonderglue, scrap, and ammo). This is key to making skill books.
- Change the sound of your Sonic Emitter
- Buff yourself for 12 hours
- Perform any doctor function for free
- Adjust how you look, from new hair to cosmetic surgery
- Get cybernetic implants (and switch some of them in and out)
- Change your Traits ONCE by undergoing a psychiatric exam. I don't know if this lets you switch out Wild Wasteland though.

... plus all of these functions are controlled by entertaining AI, which inhabit everyday objects. Honestly, I'd have paid 5 bucks just for this.
