I have one image at one site that I want to block. The site has many other images I don't want to block. I think adblock can do this on a per-image basis, but I'd rather avoid adblock for a variety of reasons. Of course the normal firefox image block only works on a per site basis, not per image basis.
So, I think I've cornered myself into either not visiting that site, or living with the image.
Any other possible fixes?

I don't know what your issues with adblock are, but I still feel it might be helpful to point out that you can disable the filters and just set up your own rules - which would be blocking that one image.

yeah, i don't think there's any way to do this without using adblock or some similar add-on.

Download and install AdBlock -> Go to the page you're having issues with -> Right click on AdBlock icon -> Disable on this page only -> Refresh page -> Right click on image -> Block image -> choose the option that best works for you -> Refresh page.
Just a few clicks and less than one minute to get it going initially. Once up and running, the same task takes but a few seconds and you'll forever be in surfing bliss.
