Fox News has invented this ridiculous "War on Men" - because men are just SO oppressed in society. But this here is just asinine. This writer literally wants to take women back to the 50's - Saudi Arabia 50's.

Actually, in the 50's life wasn't so bad in the Middle East. Now the 70's? That was entirely different.

Oh man, I hope The Colbert Report and/or The Daily Show rip this issue a new one...

While I was reading it I was like "This does not sound THAT bad", then I read the end...

It’s okay if your guy’s in charge. It’s okay if you don’t drive the car.
In fact, it’s rather liberating.
LOL WAT?

In some ways, I love you, Fox News. Keep telling us what you really think. You do more to make my point in most cases than any other source ever could.

Seriously, what is this FEMALE writer saying that is upsetting you guys so much?

This is a real question.

I'm not really offended by this article all that much.

Then again, I stay home and prefer to let my husband drive (because I've been conditioned by my parents to hate driving with other adults in the car... and also because I drive my kids all over creation all week and I just want a break). Clearly I am wrong.

Kati doesn't like to drive. In fact, she doesn't like to drive more than she dislikes my driving. So I do the driving.

It's not about being wrong, Dei, or even preferring to let someone else drive. Hell, the people insulted by the article shouldn't just be women, it should be men as well. Basically, it says that women have the capacity to fight on even footing with men, but men are just big dumb guys who need our women to give us a nice pat on the head and just accept we are stuck in our gender roles, give us a pass.

This article is horribly insulting, and even goes so far as to say women are to blame for not just going along with many of the preconceived gender notions, blaming women for failed marriages.

I'd get pissed off, but it's fox news. In their worldview
Men= knuckledragging neaderthals who need to hunt and provide
Women= delicate flowers that need to be submissive to their man

The article does not say women should be subservient to men.

Are you channeling Charlie don't surf today?

#14

I don't recall saying that it was regarding the article, I recall saying it was about fox news' general worldview.

You can't seem to read between the lines and are being overly literal. Are you channeling Gasbandit today?

You seem to be using a contraction.

You seem really defensive about this article.

Did you write that article under a pseudonym, pretending to be a woman?

(this is kinda fun)
