Seriously, I just don't understand WHY this needs to be done at all. I'm sure Ult. Spidey will be an okay cartoon, but why start from scratch when there was another show that had its most recent episode JUST LAST YEAR.

As I said in the comments, Spectacular Spider-Man was, hands down, the best animated Spidey of all time. Yes, even better than the 90's one, which has not aged well. And honestly, I believe it to be the best rendition of Spider-Man in any medium in over 30 years.

This is about as redundant as one can get. I'm really, really, really hoping that enough fans can convince Marvel Animation Studios to drop this project in favour of continuing Spectacular, instead.

I hope this doesn't shock you, but...

He gets bitten by a radioactive spider.

You would think he would learn to avoid that situation by now.

Actually, if they stick to the Ultimate Spider-Man canon it's not radioactive, it's genetically modified and with, like, green Oz stuff I think.

Your MOM is genetically modified with green Oz stuff.

hahaha, Nick, dude, I was helping my mom install Office on her laptop so as it was going through that I brought my own laptop to the dining table... my dad walked behind me, saw your avatar, and said "Oh, when did you take that picture?"

He thought you were me.. which with the baldness and the beard and the superman shirt, is not a stretch. My mom stood up to check it out and she, too, thought it was me. Once they got closer to the monitor they realized we look nothing alike (I wish, dude) but that was pretty effing funny, thought I'd insta-share.

This! So much this! I loved Spectacular Spider-Man. It was awesome. The voices were great, the theme song was catchy, the art style was clean and effective, the villains were well characterized, Peter was smart bu socially awkward, Spider-Man's quips were excellent... There were very few flaws, and there was no reason to cut it off.

I am sick of origin stories. Stop it already.

Another of Spectactular Spidey's awesome attributes is that it forwent the origin story and went straight to spidey action from the get go. Hope they keep that in mind.

Maybe they'll do that "Last Day" storyline and really kick this series into high gear!

Heh, that's awesome. Clearly, if I ever visit Mexico, I can claim to be your long lost Canadian brother!

Not really, the similarity is there from afar, in a little picture. You're way better looking than I am, dude.

Yyyyyyeah, I doubt that, dude. You're the one that gets all the action, not me.

I'm comfortable enough in my sexuality to admit that he's a good lookin' guy. =p

But you know who IS a ladies man that makes no sense? Peter frigging Parker. How does he keep landing these slammin' hotties when he's a bookish nerd who's never around when you need him?

Calleja and TNG sittin' in a tree...

On topic: Spect. Spider-man is pretty great. I wish the movies would have been more like them. Instead of the whine-fest that we were given.

Have you SEEN how ripped he is??

It's probably gonna be a straight up attempt to introduce more examples of Nick "Samuel L. Jackson" Fury as the secret black ops master of the Marvel universe, as the recent (and future) films are doing.

It's a damn shame Spec Spidey is getting crapped on, it was really good.

The problem I found with season 2 is the schedule. I had my DVR to record first runs of Spectacular Spiderman on CW so I missed the first few shows on Disney XD. I found it (thanks to a thread in this forum) and got caught up but after about 6 shows they took a few weeks off and I thought Disney dropped it mid season. Then the season started up again and it seemed to bounce around week to week at different time slots and days. It is, hands down, the best Spiderman cartoon done to date. I hate to see it end, too.

Yeah, in a way the show kind of got Firefly'd. :(

I can understand this. Disney wants its own brand spankin' new spider man program because its the new owner of marvel. If simply aired spec it'd look like it was taking wb's hand-me-downs. (like every other show on disney XD). It'd be nice if Disney XD got some orignal marvel programing that looked halfway decent and wasn't several years old. Maybe this isn't all bad. If it does well there could an 'Ultimate" animated franchise...with...all the violent and child inappropriate parts removed- You know what? Forget I said anything.
