So, if google ads are getting tres creepie, is there a way, without resorting to ad-block to sayadjust settings so that they exclude recent history without wiping the cache? It's not that I mind ads like <Web Comic Name Redacted> but I get tonnes of Eve online Ads everywhere, and uhm, I'm already playing?

Google ads are imperfect creatures. I fully and totally acknowledge this. But it's also the best thing out there for us. I tried Project Wonderful but that was a failed experiment that brought in a whole dollar after months of being up. Google ads - although not as malleable as I'd like - pays for about 1/2 the site each month. that's not exactly a sum to sneeze at.

No, you can't block only certain ads. It's really an all or nothing thing. And I am not going to be butthurt if you block the ads.

Maybe someday when the front page is more useful we'll be able to charge more for ads. Until then, Google it will probably stay.

Oh I wasn't talking about halforums, but as a general end pc user surfing all my other websites. As far as this place goes, I'm happy to pay for x months of no ads to support the site but that idea was shot down.

Oddly, I don't get any eve ads on halforums. The cougar life ones sting a bit, because the woman looks like Angelina jolly with a wife beater shiner

Well you can use a plugin to block Flash ads if you want, that would include eve.

ClickToFlash is what I use.
