Green Lantern is a chum bucket

Alan Scott, Green Lantern is perhaps the silliest most useless Green Lantern that exists. He has the most powerful ring in all of the DC Multiverse yet can't affect wood.

So Green Arrow could toss him aside with a single shot.

It's the silliest weakness I've ever seen.

You are upset because he can't handle wood?

:awesome:

As a foil to the deus ex machina that is his power ring, it's rather ridiculus.

And the colour yellow is better?

Humorous reading fail!

I wish I hadn't already done a joke with the "wood" thing.

And on a more serious note (if there can be one here) the color yellow makes WAY more sense than wood.

As most of the lantern power comes out in the form of a green light, they may be vulnerable to a specific frequency...which just happens to be from the spectrum of yellow.

As opposed to a childhood psychological trauma that is manifesting itself in his powers?

Green lantern is afraid of wood? I wasted the joke too early in the thread.

But Alan Scott power source is entirely magical in nature and has nothing to do with the green energy source. Even the lanterns who are vulnerable to the yellow energy can now overcome that limitation. Scotts' ring is the collection of magical energy for an entire universe distilled into a single stone.

So obviously that stone is vulnerable to wood? Not plants, or living matter, wood. Hacksaw Jim Duggan could beat this guys ass.

Well technically it is that magical power manifesting as a green flame that can be shaped. There is a kind of narrative irony that his flame based power is useless against wood. That said, how the frick often does it really come up? Even a dude coming at him with a bat has to get close first. The weakness to wood really doesn't come up much, plus he spends like all his time with the JSA. So Wildcat and Atom Smasher can beat up on Blackbriar thorn while GL takes out the rest of the Injustice Society single handed.

Rubicon

Almost as funny as a banana peel being enough to defeat a rookie Green Lantern

I'm sure that if he was still the main GL his weakness to wood would have been revealed as a result of an inadequacy demon being trapped in his lantern and he could affect wood if he gets his pulse to shoot up...

But really, yellow is a way worse weakness, because you can just paint a whole building in the colour and have your barely in his teens sidekick beat on Hal all day long.
