... why the GODDAMN BATMAN, that's who:

http://www.usatoday.com/life/comics/2009-12-09-morrison-bruce-wayne-st_N.htm?loc=interstitialskip

The World’s Greatest Detective is facing his toughest mystery.
Lost in the timestream, believed to be dead by his friends and enemies alike, Bruce Wayne must use every bit of intelligence, every ounce of strength and training he’s acquired over the years to find his way back to the city, and adopted family of vigilantes, he’d left behind.
Blasted by the mysterious and powerful Omega Effect in the pages of FINAL CRISIS during a deadly battle with the malevolent New God Darkseid, Bruce Wayne must battle back through the waves of time to reclaim what was his – his city, his life…his cowl?
From the kinetic and awe-inspiring imagination of writer Grant Morrison and an all-star cast of artists, including Chris Sprouse, who’ll handle art chores on the first issue, BATMAN: THE RETURN OF BRUCE WAYNE #1 (of 6) hits in April and will prove to be Bruce Wayne’s defining moment as a hero, and his toughest challenge yet.

Well, that didn't take very long. That was less time than it took
Captain America

@Li3n

Well the Omega Effect always worked like that, so it was even more planned from the get go then Cap's.

More blatantly anyway.

You'd think by now folks in comics-universes would be more genre-aware.

That's kind of what I like about Blackest Night. While it's just a cool comic, it's also a poke at everyone's tendency to die and come back.

#5

@Li3n

@Li3n

Well anyone who knew Darkside was already well aware that Bruce isn't even dead (and FC had that bat painted on a cave wall even).

#6

SpecialKO

SpecialKO

The readers knew, of course, but the actual superheroes didn't seem exactly clear on it.

#7

@Li3n

@Li3n

Superman is obviously back to hypnotizing everyone around him into being too stupid to even tell his disguise is glasses... the only explanation for that.

#8

SpecialKO

SpecialKO

It would be fucking hilarious if it was revealed that thanks to his super-hypnosis, everyone in the DC-verse has been walking around in a semi-conscious daze for the last twenty years....

If Grant Morrison does that, I'll forgive for FC immediately.

Cant wait. I love GM's stories.

Why does he need disguises if he is in the past? It sounds a little weird.

Everyone knows about his bat-fetishism.

Maybe he was in the Stone Age earlier in the day.

I've never liked his art style, way back from when he was doing Uncanny Xmen. Everyone looks asian.

Better then everyone looking Caucasian when they're not (at least it's different).

So that would mean that he lost his clothes and fashioned his Capt. Caveman! outfit in a matter of 12 hours. Or that he shaved with in 12 hours. Meaning that he flint napped a razor and dry shaved to keep his Bruce Wayne playboy image going.

Then in the Age of Sail drawing he started dreadlocking his beard before anyone started to do dreadlocks, which are generally on ones head and not face.

Meh, I'd have been more impressed had it happened to Tony Stark. He would have buily an Powered Armor Suit out of Pre-Historic materials.... in a cave.... in the dark.... under guard of T-Rexes with guns. Oh and he wouldn't have given two shits about shaving.

#28

Shannow

Again, I think I am looking forward to this. I love Morrison's stories, and I think that this one will actually be a pretty interesting one to read. And Kubert is not the only one to draw the books, he just did these sketches.

Why dry shave? All the ingredients necessary for a nice wet shave would be available. I'm sure Batman could kill a boar and make a nice boar's-hair brush. Plus the world's greatest detective surely knows how to make soap. A little fire for hot water, work up a lather, and suddenly you're feeling a lot more civilized.

Huh...

They either included the bowl of noodles and the chopsticks to make the stereotype as blatant as possible, making the poster in and of itself moderately insensitive...

Or, they were concerned that without the bowl of noodles and chopsticks, viewers might not have known she was Asian! Which would be kind of awesome in a twisted kind of way. :D

Sadly Tony Stark isn't doing much of anything except drooling, as he's braindead thanks to the loss of Extremis (which is a great read, by the way).

It'd definately a lot cleaner than Kubert's art. I loved the New Warriors, and his run on SpiderMan.

Actually I appreciate that. I will keep an eye out for the trade, I keep hearing awesome things about this storyline.
