We've been featuring comics here for a while, have multiple dedicated threads to webcomics, and even a couple forum homes for some comics, too.

So why not take it up a notch?

Here's my thought. A true webcomics collective as a part of the community. I've got my eyes on some lesser known ComicFury that, if contacted, might go for it. We can boost that front page with new content consistently, bring in new members to the forums, and expand the community. Plus, we help out some really good and largely undiscovered webcomics. Given the nature of webcomics coming and going, this can also help bringing in new strips to replace retired ones. I could do the recruiting, or we could even make it out as some kind of contest ala Webcomics Idol from my Bomb Shelter Comics days. I might even be able to bring out a couple of the old judges (or contenders) from those epic contests.

I approve, and might be willing to participate. One of the end-game goals of Thing-a-Day was to work my way up to daily sequential art.

That would be cool, David. I think this could work. A couple of knuckleheads kept Bomb Shelter going for over three years with a often-rotating roster, and created one of the major digital events in the webcomics world for a couple years. I think I could get something like that going again, at least on a smaller scale.

Would anyone know how to redo the front page to make this possible? Our front page sucks and I'm more than willing to do this.

Seriously, if anyone can help with programming a bit, I can get recruiting immediately.

Honestly, Zappit, I think your work would be a huge draw to the site. Your art is tight as hell.

I could cast a net over at ComicFury for some programming help, Dave. Little help with that for a spot on the collective roster. What would you think of that?

Zappit, you run with this and anything you need is yours. Need access to mod stuff? You got it. The admin Control Panel? It's yours. If we need to redo the front page with different software (which is probable) you let me know and I'll either get it installed or get root access to whomever we need to to make it happen.

You have my full backing on this. As I've always said, the site is not mine, but ours.

I know a couple people who MIGHT be willing to help out; I'll put out some feelers and see if they might be willing to help out.

Let me know if someone is so I can get them the access they need.
