I thought I made it, judging by the people commenting here about PMs.

Okay, here's the House and what they are like. I don't have pictures yet because I didn't take them during creation so of course I can't figure out how to get back to them.


Cajun Gal:

This girl loves to cook and will be a great asset around the house. Not only is she one of the friendliest people around, but she's also very neat and tidy. She does get excited easily but makes up for it with her childish demeanor. Someday she hopes to be a 5-Star Chef.

Lally Gal:

Cajun's and her sister Lally (you have to have a last name) room together to fend off advances by the numerous male occupants. As the younger sister, Lally taxes Cajun's patience to the core. Lally likes the attention of the male roommates and flirts with them constantly. She has a good sense of humor and parties like a rock star, but will fly off the handle at a moment's notice. Her secret shame is that she likes the rush she gets from stealing stuff. If the roommates are missing items you can bet they end up with Lally somehow. She really has no wishes for her future other than to become fabulously wealthy. But she doesn't know how she'll do it without a steady job. Oh well! BEER TIME!!

Adam Davis:

Adam is the group's workaholic. He's everything you look for in a worker - ambitious, hard worker, he knows how to schmooze the customers. If it weren't for the fact that he has amazing luck, he'd have been fired long ago as he can't seem to keep his mouth shut. His jokes fall flat and he's more liely to offend than amuse. But he wants to learn many new jobs. Master of none, but he loves new challenges.

Rob King:

Rob is a fucking genius on the computer. He sits in front of it all day long doing God knows what because nobody else can understand what it is he's doing! He has a flare for this sort of computer/artsy thing which is great because his athletic prowess sucks. He tries to be dangerous but can't seem to keep his feet from tangling. Then he gets mad and sets shit on fire. He wants to be the best handiman there is, though. Go go gadget Rob King!!

Black Cat:

Black Cat is David Beckham with a mohawk. He's cool, he knows he's cool, and he knows YOU know he's cool. He's that fucking cool! He loves the outdoors and is athletic as hell, plus he has charisma and ambition to spare! The girls all swoon over him but he can never fully commit. Can he be tamed by Lally of Cajun? Black Cat wants in his heart to be super popular. He may very well get there some day.

Chaz Wozel:

It's the first day and already this loner hates everyone in the house. In fact, it's his mission in life to make their life a living hell. While he's definately artistic and wants to be someone someday, his evil and mean spirited plans for world domination may get in the way of a steady job. Emperor of Evil Chaz Wozel. That has a nice ring to it.



That's the house, folks. I'm outfitting it now. Another note, every character is dressed in steampunk gear. Oh, yeah. This is gonna be fun.

You bought the Steampunk/Victorian Sets?

I've bought a few things myself but nothing so specific yet. Can't wait to see pics.

It's the first day at the Halforums House and it looks like people are already starting to stake their claims on things. While Lally and Cajun stand outside talking about the weather and fish, Adam and Chaz sit on the couch and watch TV.



Rob is not interested and reads a book.



Finally the girls come in and the guys all leave. So Cajun turns on the music and starts to think about hopping online while Lally is in awe of the steampunk television.



Black Cat went outside to look at the stars in the telescope. Maybe he didn't realize that it was still daylight out.



In the meantime, Chaz took this as his opportunity to sneak into the girl's room to look at their computer. Probably porn but it looked like a game.



While Chaz is upstairs working his nefarious deeds, the rest of the house is still downstairs getting acquainted. Black Cat is trying to tell Cajun how strong and manly he is - how she reacts is yet to be determined - and Lally is giddy with the new house. Adam thinks she's smiling at him and gets a Sim-woody. Rob keeps reading, oblivious to all that is going on around him.

Black Cat decides that he's better off somewhere else and wants to go to the gym. He has a hot taxi driver and they flirt, narrowly missing a young girl on a bike!



Meanwhile, Cajun takes the other PC upstairs and plays a game. Chaz never notices.



Adam continues to hit on Lally, which seems to work. Weird considering all she talks about is him and all he talks about is his favorite color.



Adam finally gets in on the action by flirting. Although I think his aim might be off a bit.



Inside the gym, Black Cat finds a cute girl to talk to. Unfortunately she looks to be 10. Maybe he's apologizing for almost running her over with a taxi.



While this creepiness is going on, Rob feels humiliated after having been turned down by Adam. He leaves in a huff, but watches Lally still flirting. Hatred burns in his heart.



Black Cat proves that he's not creepy, just nice. He throws the football around a while. He's outside, he's being active. He's happy.



And at the house, Lally and Adam continue to flirt. He thinks only of her and she thinks only of...her.

Okay, this is pretty dang funny.

Man, now I want to make a house. Except I'm thinking of making it in the form of a literal reality show. Everyone would live in a giant mansion, but no one would ever be allowed to leave. Any thoughts?

The house would eventually fill with garbage, and everyone would gain the "Stir Crazy" negative moodlet after a couple days. Coupled with living in their own filth, I can't see them living to adulthood.

Hmm, I forgot about the Stir Crazy and Garbage. The concept worked back in Sims 2, but alas.

There was still garbage in Sims 2.

The only way I can think to make it work in Sims 2 was to have a house full of dudes, hire a female maid, and make the front door one of the WOMEN ONLY bathroom doors that they eventually had available. That way only the maid could get in and out of the house.

But yeah SinX, you absolutely should give the game a try. It's loads of fun and pretty addicting, and its first expansion is coming out at some point in October.

I could see it working in the sort of Alice and Kev social experimentation model. See how long everyone lasts without dying and going crazy, etc. Might be fun to see daily updates on that sorta stuff too.

Have three or four people that have completely different skillsets and weaknesses. Could be awesome. Makes me wanna try it myself.

But I'm already running The HalfReal World.

I got it to work in one of the Sims games, not sure which it was. Anyway, that was a while ago and I can't recall all the details.

Having different skillsets might be cool, but I want something bizarre and unique. Do they get "Stir Crazy" if they're outside their house, but still on their own property?

Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki (exception being GXP) and Tenchi Universe were fantastic.

Lally gets around. That's all I'm saying. I won't have another update until tomorrow some time, but I have about 200 screen prints.

Hey forumdad, if it's not too much trouble, may we have some bigger screenshots of ourselves?... I mean, if that's possible. I've never played.

I'll try and get some full sized screenshots tonight. After the podcast I'll be updating the house and posting.

I was trying to put it all into Microsoft Movie Maker and narrate it using my own voice so you guys could see more than 4-6 screenshots at a time, but I couldn't get the sound to sync up like I wanted.

If you have a suggestion as to a better PC movie/sound editor I'd be all for it.

I was thinking of doing that myself! I might mess around with it today and see what I can come up with.
