We've only got Columbus day to celebrate here, and no one really celebrates it - but the banks and post offices are closed anyway.

As long as your food choices are spectacular turkey, stuffing, gravy, beets, potatoes, an assortment of vegetables and legumes, and delicious Charlie-style White Guilt for Colonization, then yes.
Yes they are. Also if you have not eaten so much that by the end of the night you say, out loud, "I will never eat again." then YOU HAVE DONE SOMETHING WRONG.
