One of the great actors of our time. Famous for being so good at his trade; Siskel and Ebert developed the Harry Dean Stanton rule; if he's in your movie, your movie is good.

I watched Pork Chop Hill the other night. And I spotted him as one of the extras.

He's been in some of my favorite films. He was such a damn fine actor he tended to vanish into the roles.

One of the greats, he will be missed.
