My wife won't be very interested, but this is finally showing up in limited theaters here. Don't know how long it's been out.



Anyone else seen it? Worth seeing in the theater, or something to pick up on bluray later?

No questions asked for me. Miyazaki films are always welcome trips to the theater.

I might go see it tomorrow if the stars align so we can get to a showing on time. I wish more theaters would show it and at more times.

It's playing at our local theater. I feel I should see it if he means it as his final film, but the story doesn't sound theater necessary, especially if a bunch of parents just brought their kids because it's animated, who will be bored or crying.

I've tried to see it at the Drafthouse near here. Sold out completely every time.

It was fun seeing Princess Mononoke and watching parents leave with their small children in a huff. L2Rating stupid parents.

I saw it last weekend and I don't regret it. Unlike a lot of his other films, it's less fantastic (in terms of fantasy elements within the story, not quality) and the tone is more bittersweet, but it's quality work and worth seeing in theater (I'd say that about all his films though).

We did go to see it tonight, and I really enjoyed it. Even better, my wife enjoyed it as well. She was expecting the fantasy and childish delight of his other works, which isn't her cup of tea, but was pleasantly surprised at how much she enjoyed it.

It's a much more adult film, insomuch that I doubt my children would enjoy it until they are teens. A bit of drama and romance with miyazakis beautiful signature style.

I, of course, really enjoyed it, but you know me, I'm easy.

I enjoyed it for sure. There were times I sighed and thought "oh japan ", and I continue to cringe at Japanese people trying to speak German, but it was a nice, melancholy story.
