Okay, remember when you guys all said I should delegate? Well, I'm asking for help on a couple of things. You can help on both or neither. I'll still love you.

1) Here is the comics listing compiled by YAOMTC, who was a fricking madman! What I need to find out is which of these have a forum and those that do, how busy are they? I do NOT want you to contact the authors as I want to reach out in an official capacity. I just need to know where to go.

2) Do you know of any other types of sites who are in need of a forum? Cooking sites have been mentioned. If we get cooking sites I have a killer recipe mod ready to go.

3) I want to make an official Tweet. I need a promo in 140 characters or less. Like "Have a web site and need a forum, yet think moderating is a pain? #Halforum..." Something like that but with our link & stuff.

4) Other ideas for getting the name out.

5) The front page is cool but it doesn't say who we are. Using WYSIWYG editor, we need an introduction to Halforums. This would be the first thing someone sees when they log on to www.halforums.com so it should be as cool as the other side of the pillow.

There ya have it. Delegate R Us.

My buddy is developing a dungeon crawling RPG thing for Facebook. Looking pretty good, actually. He might like some forum space, perhaps. I think it would be the right kind of crowd.

Hmmm, I noticed that 'Peeee veee Peeee' comic lacks a forum, maybe you can ask them.
Edit: I'll just start adding to this post.

I'm not sure about delegation but if you need someone kidnapped and held till they agree to link us.... either that or I can launch live animals at their front doors/windows/backyards.
Hmmm, I noticed that 'Peeee veee Peeee' comic lacks a forum, maybe you can ask them.
:rofl::thumbsup:

Girl Genius has several fan forums but no actual forum that is run by the artist. We could ask them to link to us from there site.

And when you search for us on Google, the description is the generic vBulletin one.

Seems like there was a reasonably good "About Us" page on the last site we could use as a start. :whistling:

Too big and it's not the same focus. It needs to say something about being a hub for websites who want a forum but don't want to moderate it themselves.

How many words are you looking for?

(Originally "How long are you looking for?", which was stricken down due to innuendo overload.)

Sounds kind of...I don't know. Madison Avenue I guess. Anyway, it's a start:

You're quick:eek:

Still can't find User friendly's. Some of them make it hard as hell to find.

I guess I found User Friendly's, if you mean ufies.org. Not much of a forum though.
No, they have a non traditional forum that is within the user comments of each comic. Considering how well known Illiad and UF is within the geek community, I'd venture to say it isn't hurting them.

I didn't think people would like that. I had it downloaded already but hadn't installed it.

2) Do you know of any other types of sites who are in need of a forum? Cooking sites have been mentioned. If we get cooking sites I have a killer recipe mod ready to go.
Cockeyed.com has never had a forum, even though they've kinda tried some community stuff with comments to articles. The site isn't nearly as active as it used to be, but it would seem a good match.

I was also about to suggest blogs, but I'm not sure what would type of blog would make a good match. Obviously we don't want the idiots who post comments at I Can Has Cheezburger? -- On the other hand IO9 would seem to have a fair amount of overlap in demographics, but they're a pretty huge blog, and already part of the Gawker network (Kotaku, Gizmodo, etc.) They get more comments on some posts than we get on most threads.

A smaller blog that's still active would seem a better match, but most of what I visit are major sites or near dead. Speed Force (a fan blog for the Flash and other speedsters) is a notable exception, but they already have a forum shared by other fan sites. The parent site that spawned the blog, also links to: The Comic Bloc Forums. Judging by the sub-forum categories, they cater to print comic artists (Geoff Johns, Greg Rucka, etc.) I can't tell for certain but it does seem affiliated with the artists, and isn't just a fansite. They've kind of got a paralell to our forums going. Are they competition or colleagues?
