Help me make a TF2/L4D2 Schedule

Well, now that we have the server what say we use it? I propose (actually Jay proposed but I'm stealing his idea) to make an actual schedule for play. It can be multiple nights and I promise once I set the time I'll be showing up...unlike the damned stress test.

So what days work best? Make sure it's got a catchy name like TFTuesday or L4D Weekend.

If you want to run a game go ahead and set up an Event and I'll look at it. You can do things like the all melee night you guys had. Or we can turn on the hide & seek thing that's out there.

Let me know what you guys think.

The melee was a blast.

Hide & Seek?

It's called Prop Hunt.

Prop Hunt is glorious. But if you're going for catchy names, 'Melee Monday' (alternate title: Super Monday Night Combat) and 'Search on Saturday/Sunday" (for Prop Hunt) seems the way to go.

Honestly I can't stand gimmick nights...

Good for you that you quit TF2 then, huh?

You're behind on the times, I've been back for over a week. ;)

I have a feeling gimmick nights would eventually devolve into free for alls anyways...

Some night scheduled for regular play would be nice though. I always check in when I have some gaming time free in the evenings but there's almost never anyone online (probably because I'm on MST here).

To me I think it depends on the gimmick. If it's melee only it's useful for developing tools for combat.

So here's what I think I'm going to do. I'm going to set the Event calendar up for something every night of the week, but some of the days will be Open Sessions and anyone can come in. I'd also like to do some L4D2 games but in testing I couldn't figure out how to connect to our server. I wanted to see if we could or if I needed to do something first.

Anyone know how to do this?

Press ~ to bring up developer console. (Turn it on in your options first)
Type openserverbrowser
The server browser comes up, you can add your server to favorites with the IP address.
Then you can double click and put in the password to play.

Thanks, man. I've been waiting to test some stuff out before making the schedule.

On that note, does anyone want to volunteer to host a night? It would require you to stay on the server even if alone for the allotted timeframe. Also, what would be a good time to set up to include our users across the pond?

I'd be willing to sit around on wednesday night sessions. I know its an odd night, but its the only one i will have consistently available. I could host the shit outta that night. Just let me know what I need to do.

I'll probably set something up to start in April. Until then I have some testing and stuff to do. But Wednesday it is!

Except Wednesday the 4th... as I'll be on spring break and motorboating everything that moves
