Help me pick a game.

Okay, I get to pick one game to download from Steam. Here's my wish list:

Here's the good/bad about these.

Borderlands - Presale. I wouldn't get to play it.
Worlds of Magic - I think I'd like this, but wish there was a demo.
Carmageddon - Because it would also come with Carma 1 I know I'll like this one.
Beyond Earth - Same as Borderlands.
Life is Feudal - Might be good, but I think it would get old fast.
Starpoint Gemeni 2 - Freelancer game. Looks interesting but I don't know much about it.
Shadows of Mordor - I worry that since this game is nothing but fighting it might get boring fast.

So what do you think? Should I get one of these or something completely different? If you have one of these games, how do you like it?

Personally, I would go with Civ:BE, but only because of the replayability. Even if I had to wait for it.

Shadow of Mordor is insanely awesome. Yeah, it's mostly combat, stealth, and exploration, but it's really, really well done. If you enjoyed the Batman games, I'd say you'll enjoy this.

I'm not working right now but have put like almost a day into Shadow of Mordor already. It's so good. Haven't played the others to have a fair say but I am really enjoying it and this was after I almost didn't get it because of assassin's creed burnout.

I didn't like Assassin's Creed.

I love Shadow of Mordor.

And honestly, this game wasn't even on my 'give a fuck' list until I started hearing it get such good word of mouth. I was expecting the nemesis system to be shit. It's not.

The silver lining in not being able to get Shadow of Mordor yet is seeing the people who anticipated it to be a crappy gimmick game now playing it and loving it. I knew it--I KNEW it'd be good!

... that sure is better than playing it, yup.

Please, you have better things to play.

But uh...once the shininess wears off maybe I'll look into this one.

I am resisting the temptation to get Shadows of Mordor by repeating five simple words, again and again:

Wait for the Steam sale... wait for the Steam sale... wait for the Steam sale...

Shadow of Mordor was a game I was looking forward to since I heard about it early this year. Unfortunately for it, I've been waiting for Bayonetta 2, Pokemon ORAS a little longer, and then Smash Bros for years. I can't believe the game is finally out after all the time I've been anticipating it.

So against those, unfortunately Shadow of Mordor and Persona Q had to be put on the wishlist. Either I get them for Christmas or I buy them when I have money someday. No big deal. Like I said in the playing thread, it'll still be just as good months from now.

I actually bucked the trend and got Carmageddon. The reason? Because I get the original game with it so even if I don't like the new game I can play the old one online. I'm still going to get Mordor, just wait a week.

What's funny is that my wife said, "I don't know what to get you for your birthday. Pick a game and buy it."

Yeah, I fucked up. Carmageddon is slow and buggy as fuck and everyone is having a lot of fun playing Mordor.
