NBC sci-fi series gets a 13-episode revival in 2015

NBC's sci-fi series Heroes is being revived as a 13-episode limited series, with creator Tim Kring back at the helm but a new cast of characters and a self-contained storyline that's "shrouded in secrecy."

I swear to Kirby, if the story involves a threat that's seen from the future and delivered to people in the present through paintings....

I am very very wary of this.

Well, Jeph Loeb is still an executive producer. That's a big indicator of how badly it could go right there.

Executive Producers generally have zero-to-no creative input on TV/movies.

From what I remember a major downfall for the show was that writers' strike, so hopefully with that long since done this will be up there with season 1.

They will still never outdo the brilliance that was company man.

But given what a great character Noah Bennett (previously known as HRG) was, you can bet there will be another that tries to copy him, and fails.

He also wrote several episodes, so I imagine he IS part of the creative process.

Oh good! Wait.
No.

The other thing, the opposite of good.

Bad Nick.

Wait. No.

Bad, Nick.

There we go. I almost left out the comma, which is kind of like how the Heroes producers always left out the quality. It's amazing at what you produce when you forget something essential.

Heroes was a great show. It's a pity they cancelled it after 1 season.

Heroes was so bad in later seasons it served to illustrate how bad the first season actually was.

I wonder what comic they'll rip off for this new season.

I disagree. Sure, every season after the first was fucking terrible, but I don't think that really diminishes the fun of the first season.

The first season was fine, until the season finale.

When you're nothing but build up to something and that something turns out to be completely boring shit, The entire build up becomes garbage.[DOUBLEPOST=1393254918,1393254833][/DOUBLEPOST]

Answer this honestly. Would you want to watch the first season of Heroes again?

Yes. I've watched it again once already.

I think we got different things from the show. But don't get me wrong, I'm not the least bit hopeful or excited for this remake.

Man, I sure hope that every single episode includes this monologue (or something like it):

All my life... I knew I was different... and now I meet you people... and it all makes sense.

They should rip off homage Heroes Reborn.

Wow... really... we need a new Heroes series? Who was clamoring for this?

A lot of people really... the original series had great characters but mostly suffered from terrible writing due to the writer's strike. Plus superheros are a "thing" now and everyone is trying to cash in. Really, I'm surprised it took this long... they had been planning a movie for awhile.

I had so much hope for that show. What a crap-fest it turned into. I don't think I have it in me to go down that road again.

I didn't even KNOW about Jericho until SyFy started running reruns. It was surprisingly good.
