interesting..... I wonder if you have to prove that you have relative in X location.

Why prove it? Just send them out of town. If they tell the truth, they may end up with family that can help. If they lie, they get a one way ticket out of town/state/nation. It is a win-win situation.

I bet my brother would self fund such a move with the dozen or so homeless people that live under a bridge in his neighborhood. He says he is tired of seeing those trolls living under that bridge.

If they were on the internet, I'd reccommend not feeding them. But I guess that in the real world the idea is quite the opposite.

I'd have to say that yes, there is a need for proof.

Yea, but the article didn't say what kind of proof? a letter? a signed document? a photo?

looks like this article said the social services has to verify. So I guess you just have to have another person at the other location verify you. I am not saying that people may abuse the system (it is one way ticket) but I am just wondering what check and balance on this system to avoid/prevent abuse.

You can get a bus ticket from almost any Salvation Army if you can give proof that someone is waiting for you at the other end and your situation is dire. Easier for families that are stranded etc, but it is pretty standard almost everywhere.
