Long story short, Progressive went so far out of it's way to avoid paying it's obligated contractual insurance pay out to the estate of a woman killed by a driver running a red light it was paying to defend the woman's killer in court.

This has been making the rounds on the net all evening...

On topic though, this is up there as one of the most God awful acts of vileness ever perpetrated by a modern insurance company, and we all know what depths of complete and utter evil that entails.

It just fills me with a seething dislike of the entire legal profession, which is hard because one of our own just finished law school.

Okay this whole act is horrible. However, I can't stop laughing because right after I read this thread I scrolled back up and noticed the ad banner is telling me to buy Progressive.

The thing that got me is where Progressive's lawyers went to represent the defendant. wtf

Isn't it great that people's health is a for-profit industry?
