My state of birth is #9 (Iowa) and my state of residence is #7 (Nebraska). I'm happy. Happy, happy, happy.

15th, huh? I'm... not too sure about that. Not surprised to see Seattle so far back on the city ranking, though.

122nd!

But next year when the Bills are winning again, we'll shoot right up

Man, I want Bay area temperatures year round. No wonder people are happy there.

Hmm... 33rd State, but 42nd in community ranking... maybe they're taking a sampling around St. Pat's? *shrugs*

I am really surprised at Kansas. How is that place so much higher than Oklahoma??

Tornadoes killed all the unhappy people.

Apparently this just happened too: Columbus, Ohio named Most Intelligent City in America.

While I can't deny the tech angle, I can't fathom why anyone would want to live here. It still looks and feels like a forgotten Rust Belt city.

269 by congressional district... Odd because there are some well educated/wealthy people here.

50th out of 50. No surprise. Old and angry state keeps getting older and angrier.
111th metro region. On Pittsburgh's fringe just pulls us out of the basement.
My district (WV1) 378th. Replaced an entrenched Democrat with a teabagger wannabe.
Charleston is 189 of 189. Huntington is 187.
WV 3rd 436 out of 436.

Sigh.

What I don't get is, what exactly is going on in Madison that those people are skewing our "happy" score?

EDIT: And looking closer, I see something that REALLY puzzles me - we're pretty highly ranked in the major subscores that go into the #20 ranking... except for "Life Evaluation".

Upon reading the text closer, I discover that this is a measure of how people feel about their "anticipated life situation five years from now."

Wisconsin is ranked 37th.

Yeah, that seems really off to me. Things are pretty terrible in this state at the moment.

Awww. You wouldn't want to be here anyway. Too much shave ice and not enough cheese. :wololo:

And cheese - better bring a loan application. :p

And Bowielee - that's what's freaky. We're all happy about everything in the state - except our future.

In my state's defense, I'm willing to bet its happiness is brought way down by North Louisiana.
