I must say this looks pretty cool. Although I will miss Nicholas Cage, it looks like Jim Carrey does a decent job playing a slightly unhinged superhero. We've already seen what he was like as a villain...

What amazed me about the first one was just how good it was compared to the piece of shit comic. Seriously, the comic was probably one of the worst things I've ever read in my whole life, save for Millar's other work, like Wanted.

Let's hope the same remains for this new one.

I read somewhere that the comic has actually changed a bit to accommodate some of the stuff from the movie, mainly because the movie was simply received so much better. Does anyone know if this is true?

They definitely did. It's still ultra-violent, but the tone is lighter and the overall theme is much more optimistic.
